Superb!! The restaurant exceeded our expectations. We wanted traditional Sardinian food and we had that plus exceptional service in an idyllic setting. The hour drive was worth it! Highly recommended!!

A dream! The Su Gologone Experience Hotel is one of a kind in the world! As the name suggests, it's an "experience hotel," but it's much more! It's, first and foremost, a magical place, a space to be discovered that combines art, nature, and Sardinian tradition in a unique and inimitable way. Nestled in the Barbagia mountains, it's the perfect base for those wishing to discover archaeological sites, nature trails, and, with little time by car, even the sea. The rooms are all different and each more charming than the last: each tells a story, with works, fabrics, and details that make it unique. It's like entering a small, open-air museum, capable of surprising you every time. The cuisine is extraordinary, with authentic local dishes and attention to every detail. The experiential dinners organized by Giovanna are unforgettable, in spectacular locations that transform a dinner into a true journey through flavors, art, and nature. With indescribable views! A special thanks to Giovanna, whose artistic vision and passion have made this hotel a one-of-a-kind place, and to Mario, for his kindness and helpfulness, and for all his advice and anecdotes! Every year I go for dinner, the food is spectacular, it's expensive but it's ultra good, it's worth going and spending a completely different evening from the usual ones. The staff, what can I say, the kindness, the attention for those who love being with the public is important on an empathy level, dealing with the different situations that arise.

Nestled beneath spectacular mountains (it's not by the sea), this place of art and magic will utterly enchant you. The owner's love for her land and its artistic expressions (she herself is an artist and designer) is evident in every detail. It's truly superior. The food, too, I must say. I ate one of the three best meals of my life here. Definitely worth a try.

The experience (and review) refer to the restaurant only. The traditional restaurant at the Su Gologone hotel features a terrace with breathtaking views and rooms decorated with Sardinian artwork and crafts. We stopped for dinner. The entree was excellent carasau bread with pecorino cream, absolutely delicious, as were the guttiau and potato breads. Then we ordered (not many dishes, because we were coming off a "heavy" lunch), and among them: A shared garden appetizer (€20)...delicious dishes with ancient flavors: sautéed mushrooms, eggplant and cherry tomato casule, delicious vegetarian fritters...good quality ingredients; Culurgiones (pasta stuffed with potatoes and mint) with tomato sauce (€16), one of the traditional Sardinian first courses; Ravioli with tomato sauce and meatballs (€16), delicious; Orecchiette with herbs (€15), one of the first courses ordered; Veal tenderloin (€16), a good second course. The bill was €139.50 for 4 people (2 appetizers, 3 first courses, 1 second course, 3 sorbets, 3 bottles of water and 1 glass of rosé wine, with 4 complimentary digestifs, and excellent service… A truly wonderful experience, and not just a typical restaurant dinner, even if the prices were more like a trattoria some years ago.

A magical place that the creativity of owner Giovanna Palimodde, artist and manager, with the help of her husband and daughter, has made ever more special and welcoming over the years! We had the pleasure of staying in a spectacular suite (the private seawater pool was a real treat). The delicacies we enjoyed on the Nido del Pane terrace and in the restaurant were delicious (a special mention for the ravioli with fennel), and Michele's massage overlooking the pool was fantastic. The hotel staff is attentive, thoughtful, very helpful, and completely in love with the owner! Su Gologone is truly an unforgettable experience, a temple dedicated to the promotion of Sardinian culture and art, where you can also find a small but precious exhibition with unpublished works by Maria Lai and Bertozzi & Casoni, open until August 17th.

It’s a jewel! We’d love to come back. There’s so much to do, so much art, so many great experiences that you don’t even want to leave and go to the beach! Giovanna, the owner, is so creative and full of passion, she’s just among everybody… and all her talent shows in every corner of the place.
