The Schlosshotel Aehrental is an extraordinary, wonderful place: in the heart of Kaltern, yet a little removed from the hustle and bustle. We appreciate the hospitality, the delicious food, the wonderful residence with its well-kept garden... A gem, and very special indeed.

We always enjoy staying at the castle hotel. The old building is very beautiful, the magnificent gardens are lovingly maintained and invite you to linger. The delicious food is simply delicious, and the owner and the entire staff are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel has private access to the lake, which is about 3 kilometers away.

05/10/2025: A very beautiful alpine hut with everything you could need. Easily accessible from the Falzleben parking lot.
24/09/2025: The outdoor seating is very pleasant, while the interior is very rustic and smells a bit damp. At first, the landlady seemed a bit harsh, but then she became friendly. The food came very quickly, but we were the only guests. The Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes) was a bit too much like egg pancakes for me, but otherwise delicious. The bacon and cheese board were delicious, and the bread was generously sized with caraway seeds. Unfortunately, there was no hot chocolate available. I like that they also offer seasonal produce from time to time.

09/11/2025: We ate here a couple of times during the summer. Always very good and the staff very friendly. The best apricot dumplings around.
22/10/2025: We went there for dinner; the food was delicious and regional. The apple juice was freshly squeezed, and the menu was seasonally updated. The service was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was decorated like a proper pub, and accordingly, many locals enjoyed their after-work hours there.
