I visited Sabia Restaurant for lunch on Sunday, December 14, 2025, with a large group of friends, divided among the restaurant's various tables, with a pre-arranged menu. In addition to a small selection of appetizers, they served a meat-based menu consisting of an appetizer, two first courses, a second course, and a slice of excellent cake. All washed down with mineral water, red wine, and prosecco. I must honestly say that everything was more than good, with top-notch service. Final price per person: €50.

After three weeks of traveling through Europe and dining out almost every night, we didn’t expect to be surprised — but Sabìa absolutely delivered. My wife and I were meeting my sister, her family, and our cousins, twelve of us in total, and this turned out to be one of the standout meals of our entire trip. The menu was a perfect balance of traditional Sicilian flavors and creative touches. Each dish felt like it had been crafted with real care — from the fresh seafood pastas that tasted like the sea was just steps away, to perfectly grilled meats and vibrant seasonal vegetables. The flavors were bold yet refined, and everything tasted unmistakably fresh. Our Italian isn’t perfect, but the owner graciously took the time to walk us through the menu with patience and warmth, making sure everyone found something they loved. It was more than just dinner; it was an evening filled with great food, laughter, and that unmistakable Sicilian hospitality. If you find yourself in Gela, Sabìa is an absolute must.

Last night, Sabìa restaurant and its staff made our romantic evening unforgettable! It was a unique and surprising culinary experience! We chose one of the menus offered, carefully explained by Alessandro with great professionalism and affability... a complete experience characterized by a riot of gourmet and refined flavors, from the entrée to the pre-dessert and finally to the dessert, passing through the appetizer and then the first and second courses, accompanied by an excellent Etna wine, all prepared with exceptional skill by Chef Totó and his team. Every course and every aspect was top-notch! From the presentation and plating, to the freshness and quality of the raw materials, to the utterly original combinations of ingredients, never banal or predictable. For example... how could we not mention the delicious octopus appetizer on a bed of mint-flavored zucchini cream and smoked burrata, the refined Sardinian gnocchetti with Sorrento pesto and salmon tartare, the exquisite tuna with peppers on a bed of eggplant cream, and the refreshing fiordilatte ice cream with breadcrumbs and mandarin oil. Our compliments once again to Sabìa and her staff for creating a truly unique restaurant in Gela, one of a kind in terms of quality, elegance, and hospitality. We dined as a couple at this charming restaurant for our anniversary. For us, it was an unforgettable journey, a sensory journey on a cool summer evening, amidst the flavors of yesteryear and distant memories of this land, the Sicily of our ancestors. As soon as we entered, Alessandro greeted us with the sweet notes of a piano, and we immediately felt pampered. The "commissioni" menu is truly a local excellence: from the entrée to the octopus appetizer, delicious on the palate and sublime on the senses, we continued our dinner with a first course (conchiglie with Sorrento-style pesto, lime, almonds, and salmon cubes) that will astonish even the most discerning palates. The second course elevates the heart of the dinner with a tasty and modern tuna and pepper dish, all accompanied by local creams that add a touch of magic to our experience. Finally, with a pre-dessert and a dessert, we sweetly conclude this fabulous and unforgettable journey. From the local white wine from the slopes of Etna to Alessandro's description of each dish, which pampered us until the very end, and Chef Totó, who delighted our palate, we leave with even greater conviction: certain moments in life are meant to be lived and savored with our eyes closed, and this is the perfect place to make a dream come true.
