Ristorante Pizzeria Malibu In Cirò marina

Truly remarkable. Top-quality food. Nice parking lot, convenient for both walking and driving.

Disappointing experience. The second week of September, the Cirò Marina waterfront was completely deserted and all the restaurants were closed. Only Malibú was open, so we settled in for a few snacks and perhaps a drink of the renowned Cirò wine. We ordered a Cirò red wine, which was served at 38°C (98.4°F), explaining that "red doesn't go in the refrigerator." We agreed, but not even at 40°C (104.4°F). In fact, once opened, the wine had turned to vinegar, to which the owner explained, "We're not in the bottle of wine." In short, two embarrassing moments later, we insisted on having it returned and opted for beer. To our surprise, he didn't charge us for it. We were surprised, because the outlook was dire. Tourism in Calabria could boom if only the Calabrians were more hospitable, more friendly, and less Calabrian.

We had dinner, enjoying innovative options and a few well-prepared dishes. The octopus served at room temperature with lemon mayonnaise was excellent, and the shellfish paccheri with burrata cream was very tasty. After the appetizer and first courses, we didn't try the second courses because the portions were so generous. The pizzas also looked lovely. The restaurant is also suitable for families.

We had dinner here a few nights ago, the service was a bit slow (maybe because there were so many people), but the food was good.

We've been there several times in a week, both for lunch and dinner. We've tried almost the entire menu, and it's truly exceptional. Casual in the morning, beautiful and elegant for dinner. The staff are fantastic. They also serve pizza: excellent contemporary Neapolitan pizza. Definitely worth a try if you're here on vacation.
