We recently visit Tropea with my family, as we just bought a new condominium and we had plenty of time to explore the local restaurants. One of my sons, told us that Picanha 2 0 had the best reviews as a steakhouse so we went to try it out and we all (5 of us) being you can say, experts steak eaters, agreed that was one of the best tomahawk steaks, beef tartar, pastas we had tasted in Tropea. The food had and extra touch of flavors that made it exquisite! The atmosphere was perfect to enjoy dinner, the piano music was delightful with the perfect volume to enjoy of table conversation. We got to meet Maestro Cece (pianist) and also the owner who told us his world food adventures before returning to Tropea and opening this upscale steakhouse that without doubt, is the best! The price was reasonable and the service professional and friendly.

A very nice restaurant, great atmosphere, the staff friendly and helpful (very clean toilets🤩) the food excellent, the only thing that could be criticized is that a piece of burger bread also belongs to the burger, otherwise simply TOP - thank you for the deliciously prepared food.

The meat was delicious, flavorful, and top-quality. The cured meat appetizers were also excellent. The service, however, was a bit lacking in enthusiasm; fortunately, the friendly owner stopped by and we chatted for a bit... that's the right spirit. There was only one wine available by the glass: a little more choice would have been appreciated. Prices were in line with the quality. A positive experience.

A typical restaurant for trying specialty meats.
We were desperate for something different.
We opted for a classic picanha, cooked rare (not requested), which we didn't like.
And Iberian pork pluma, very, very fatty.
Sweet and sour onion, which was more bitter than sweet (it should have been stated that it contained vinegar).
Overall, for paying more than 100 euros, we weren't at all satisfied; in fact, we left with a bitter taste in our mouths.

Attracted by the reviews and advertising at the entrance to Tropea, we decided to stop for dinner.
The location was much more attentive than the service. At various points during the evening, the dining room was uncovered, despite the number of waiters. As for the food, we ordered a tagliata, a picanha, and grilled vegetables. We were satisfied with the first, but not with the other dishes; the picanha was not for the quality and cooking (overcooked on the first try, slightly pinker, but still overcooked, on the second), while the vegetables were for the quantity (€6 for two small vegetables). The latter, by the way, weren't even in line with what was stated on the menu (zucchini, eggplant, and onions). We asked for them without onions, but we received a mix of vegetables that weren't "declared." The menu needs updating out of fairness to our customers. The plating is a positive point.

We had a great time. The place was very well-maintained and the music was pleasant.
The meat was truly excellent.
The ingredients were high-quality. We tried two types of T-bone steaks, both truly delicious. My son had a Picana 2.0 sandwich, which was excellent!
A small note on the desserts: the cheesecakes weren't the best. I would have preferred higher-quality artisanal desserts.

Dinner for two, nice experience, very warm and courteous staff, always smiling. Very nice and intimate atmosphere even if we dined outside. Good wild boar and venison cold cuts, excellent Barolo cheese. Good meats, generous portions too. The chips and side dishes are very pleasant, the spices used such as fennel seed on grilled vegetables make the proposal more authentic. The Picanha burger is very good, the combination of meat, cheese and rosemary mayonnaise is a gem. In general clean food without strange effects on the stomach. The introduction to the courses could definitely be improved, such as the appetizers: we had to attract the maitre's attention and ask what was what with a "tell us something?". Even for the grilled vegetables a few words would have been appreciated regarding the proposals and marinades: if your shadow is projected on the plate it is difficult to understand what you are tasting unless it is the courgettes and peppers. A little training for the staff in this regard would be a nice and certainly appreciated icing on the cake for the service. We didn't like the tomatoes in the Tropea salad: between the pulp and the skin there was the classic white layer of maturation in the cell, honestly you should review the proposal given that in addition to the onion, the tomato is the base of the dish. Finally, the salted caramel cheesecake was really excellent but the Pizzo pistachio truffle was still too hard and also tasteless. Even the classic tiramisu is not that great, too bad. With a few more small adjustments the place would really offer a 360 degree high-level experience. However, I don't understand the complaints in some reviews about the prices, they are well displayed and no one forces you to sit or remain seated after having looked at the menu. As for us, see you next time 👍
