We stumbled upon it by chance during a stopover on a long journey, and it was a pleasant experience. The place is simple but well-kept, the cuisine is authentic and delicious, and above all, the staff are very friendly. Recommended!

Ristorante Margherita

19/08/2025: This restaurant is well known and has had positive experiences. I recently spent Ferragosto there, and I must say that despite the crowds and the unpredictable weather, I had a wonderful day. The restaurant is located practically on the shore of Lake Cardito, and you can take a walk along the lakeside after/before lunch. The food was excellent, homemade and high-quality, especially the roast lamb. The service, despite the crowds, was good.
12/08/2025: I've known this restaurant since I was a child. It hasn't changed much, and I think that's a positive thing. Simple food, a limited menu because everything is freshly cooked, and a rustic, family-friendly atmosphere, as it should be in a place like this. Its proximity to Lake Cardito, a place of peace and surprising beauty, is priceless. P.S. Ask for the shortcut that takes you directly to the lake, for a refreshing stroll.

17/08/2025: I should point out that we stopped just to break up the journey back from vacation (from Trapani to Bergamo). For this reason, I can confirm the excellent location, close to the highway and the Montecassino Abbey, which we managed to visit in the afternoon. The location is very beautiful and surrounded by nature, but I think it could still be improved. The same goes for the rooms. The price was fair, however, as far as we were concerned. We were with our Czechoslovakian wolfdog, who was admitted for an additional €10.
17/08/2025: Ideal location for "breaking up" the north-south Italy route. Easily accessible from the highway. Also suitable for stays on site as a base for visiting nearby places. Friendly and helpful owners.
