Ristorante Matigusta Braceria In Altidona

We stumbled upon this grill restaurant by chance, rolling south! It's located a short distance from the A14/Pedaso exit on State Road 16. The place is beautiful, the staff is extremely friendly; Matilde (the owner) knows her job, and you can tell, even from a distance, that she was born to do this! Smiling and attentive to everything! The food is SUPERLATIVE! The meat is exquisite and of excellent quality, as are the cured meats and the homemade bread, served hot! The charcoal-fired one is delicious! The Porchetta, also served hot, has a crispy, bubbly crust. I'm very critical of porchetta; I grew up eating the kind made in my hometown (in Abruzzo) and I prefer that... but it's just a matter of taste! For side dishes, baked potatoes and sautéed vegetables! The wine list is excellent, and there's a beer passport! Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the desserts; we were too full. 🫣 The only downside... the coffee! Macchiato and others... let's just say it's questionable... but as a dear friend told me a long time ago: "Never drink coffee where you eat well, because they'll make it terrible!" 😊 We'll definitely be back when we have the chance!

Matigusta is a restaurant with a quiet, refined atmosphere, tastefully decorated, where you can truly converse and enjoy the evening without the hustle and bustle. The staff is extremely kind and knowledgeable, always attentive but never intrusive. We chose a tasting of raw fish, an excellent 1.4 kg cut of Italian beef, and desserts. The passion, expertise, and love for this work are evident. It's one of those places that would have nothing to envy of restaurants in a big city. Sincere compliments.

I had high expectations, and unfortunately, they weren't met. Matilde's selection turned out to be a rump steak weighing up to 250g for €45 (moreover, the cut was explained to me in a very sketchy and cursory manner only after I specifically asked). There were only a couple of us at the table, and despite the €4 cover charge, they forgot to bring me water after I'd requested it, and they didn't even ask if I wanted more bread after I'd finished the four slices initially served. Overall, it was a mediocre experience at decidedly exorbitant prices.

After hearing so much about it and longing for it, I finally went to Matigusta! What can I say... one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had! The quality and selection of the ingredients are evident, as is the pursuit of perfection in the pairings and presentation of the dishes; the service, attentive and meticulous yet lively and energetic (the entire staff is very young and always smiling), does the rest! We tried a bit of everything, from fried and raw dishes to steaks and desserts: an incredible journey that, without exaggerating, I must say moved me! Special mention goes to the owner Matilde, a relentless engine who never stops igniting new ideas to keep her restaurant always at the top, but at the same time so present and available to her customers! I know how much work goes into it, so... congratulations, I already can't wait to go back 👏🏻

A truly unique experience. From porchetta to raw fish, from steak (the best), to dessert. An explosion of flavors that are truly rare to find. Friendly and professional service. Sincere compliments for the work you do and for what you convey. It will be a must-visit every time I pass by.

Top-quality meat selections, expertly cooked. Matilde and her staff are simply fantastic. I recommend trying the mixed prosciutto. Highly recommended!

Gastronomic-wise, Matigusta is a guarantee, with excellent meats and cooking methods. I say this with full knowledge of the facts, given that I've visited at least 30% of the 50 best steak houses in Italy, according to Braciamiancora's ranking! The staff is professional, competent, and kind, but lacks empathy. In short, it seems like they're reciting a good script, but that's where it ends. As for the ambiance, it's well-kept and, above all, clean, but nothing exciting for me. Maybe it's a personal bias (I work in interior design). Anyway, I focus on the gastronomic experience, and the ambiance is certainly not a priority, but appearance also counts, especially if the restaurant is positioned at a certain level. Regarding the financial aspect, it's always difficult to express an opinion on the prices charged by a restaurant. What I can say is that just because someone has the money doesn't necessarily mean they're willing to spend it without a valid reason. It always depends on the experience you have, and the infamous quality/price ratio is determined by a combination of factors, both tangible and intangible. What I do feel like saying, however, and I also wrote it in the questionnaire you receive on WhatsApp after eating at Matigusta, is that the attention paid to the regular customer is missing, which guarantees a regular presence at the restaurant, and which keeps you coming back again and again.

I've saved this place for every time I come here. The quality of the meat is excellent, and it's top of my list for now!! Congratulations! The location and the service too.
