Located in a truly privileged position, directly above the fascinating Zungri caves, the restaurant offers a breathtaking view that takes your breath away. Whether you choose to have lunch inside the room, elegant and with attention to the smallest details, or whether you prefer to relax under the wooden gazebo, admiring the surrounding landscape, the atmosphere is always intimate and welcoming. Access to the restaurant is convenient, both by car and on foot, but for those who want to completely immerse themselves in nature and visit the caves, I recommend purchasing tickets first and then reaching the restaurant on foot. The short walk of about 400 meters will be downhill and is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the coolness of the pine forest and prepare your palate for a unique gastronomic experience. The dining room staff is extremely attentive and helpful, ready to satisfy every request and recommend the best dishes. I had the opportunity to taste the sea green gnocchi, a true delight that highlighted the quality of the fresh pasta. The fish is very fresh and cooked to perfection, the dishes are plentiful and carefully presented. A must is the platter of typical homemade products, perfect for two people and full of authentic flavours. The variety of local specialties, all prepared with fresh and genuine ingredients, is truly surprising. The quality of the food and the beauty of the place are reflected in the price, but it is absolutely worth it. the Le Grotte di Deso restaurant is a unique and evocative place, recommended.

Difficile arrivarci ma ne vale la pena. Location molto bella con vista panoramica . Antipasto misto calabrese ottimo e super abbondante, piatto di crudo freschissimo pasta ben cotta ben abbinata con sapori giusti. Pochi piatti ma buoni. La signora Fatima gentilissima . Non so se riuscirò a tornerare ma lo ricorderò

My wife and I went to Zungri a couple weeks ago with some friends to tour the museum and cave dwellings. To our wonderful surprise we found a beautiful restaurant with amazing territorial views. The servers seemed as delighted to see us as we were to see them. But the best part of the experience was the food. I told them I was a vegan and they prepared the most delicious plate of four high protein beautifully presented dishes with various types of greens and beans. I've been a vegan for over 30 years and the typical response is: "we might be able to modify this or that -- but you know we have salads!" The sign of a quality chef is when they can make something vegan off-menu that is absolutely delicious. My wife, who is not a vegan, had tuna, and she said it was the best she ever had. I won't say more about that since she may want to write her own review. I am writing this today because I neglected to write it sooner, and we are going back to the restaurant today! I know, I should have waited until after today's meal to write this, but I feel so strongly about my first experience at LeGrotte di Deso that I decided to take the chance. We are leaving Italy in a couple days and I might not have another opportunity to write a review. If you are ever in Southern Calabria, don't miss this restaurant. It is truly exceptional. John C.
