Very good dishes, quiet and very nice environment for children, close to the Gole del Calore nature reserve

Located at the start of the Gole del Calore trail, it's the perfect spot for a pre- or post-hike refreshment. Authentic home cooking, generous portions, and moderate prices: on Ferragosto (August 15th), we paid €40 per person for a full menu (appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, wine, water, and coffee). I recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends and holidays. Plenty of parking is available nearby, but it's best to arrive early to find a spot easily. Card payments are accepted. Small dogs are welcome.

The restaurant is simple and open-air. We ordered an appetizer (a bit meager) and fusilli, which turned out to be excellent and the portions were generous. The house wine was good, and the prices were fair. The service was quick and attentive. I have to make one comment, though... I asked for some bread; they brought me a basket with four slices of stale bread, which I found on my bill for €2. Restaurants around the world include bread in their service charge, but not here... but at least they bring fresh, fragrant bread to the table.

We had an evening at this restaurant a few days ago, right near the gorges. Its popularity is especially strong at lunchtime, as it's not always open in the evenings. The restaurant is a beautiful wooden building, very spacious, and has a nice pizza oven, which the owner also offers home delivery. Unfortunately, we found the menu to be very modest and of rather average quality.
