Rifugio Sauch In Giovo

Surrounded by greenery and just steps from the charming Roccolo del Sauch, discovered by chance while mountain biking above Faedo. Welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, truly delicious traditional Trentino dishes (polenta, cured meats, rabbit, and homemade desserts). Excellent value, outdoor spaces perfect for relaxing with family or friends. Highly recommended!

Beautiful, quiet and well-kept place...excellent food

Idyllic setting, surrounded by greenery; friendly and very patient staff. For those who eat everything, the dishes certainly look fantastic and tasty. I'm giving it 3 stars because they would appreciate more attention to those (increasingly numerous) customers who want a plant-based/vegan alternative (there aren't the same difficulties as a mountain refuge here, just a matter of willpower). A menu without plant-based fixed options (other than side dishes) is just as unacceptable in 2025 as serving a plate of gnocchi without even oil to those looking for a cheese- and meat-free option—and charging the same, which isn't cheap. I won't mention the costs or cover charge, because these days we're overcharging everywhere. I reluctantly gave up the refuge's desserts (truly exceptional and refined) because there were no plant-based options available. I hope to return next time and find a change. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and patient despite the heat.

Abbiamo raggiunto il rifugio a piedi da Pineta di Faedo in meno di un'ora, percorrendo la strada in mezzo a un bel bosco. Il rifugio si trova vicino al "Roccolo" ancora ben mantenuto. I piatti offerti sono gustosi e attinenti a quelli che normalmente vengono proposti nei rifugi, però con un tocco di raffinatezza in più, tanto che si avvicinano a quelli tipici della città. Il personale gentile e attento al cliente, buono il rapporto qualità/prezzo.
