Rifugio Sauch In Giovo

Surrounded by greenery and just steps from the charming Roccolo del Sauch, discovered by chance while mountain biking above Faedo. Welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, truly delicious traditional Trentino dishes (polenta, cured meats, rabbit, and homemade desserts). Excellent value, outdoor spaces perfect for relaxing with family or friends. Highly recommended!

Beautiful, quiet and well-kept place...excellent food

Idyllic setting, surrounded by greenery; kind and very patient staff. Undoubtedly for those who eat everything the dishes seem truly fantastic and tasty. I give 3 stars because it would be appreciated to pay more attention to those customers (increasingly) who want a plant-based/vegan alternative (there are no difficulties of a high mountain refuge here, just a question of will). It is not possible in 2025 to have a menu without fixed plant-based proposals (other than side dishes) as well as to serve a plate of gnocchi without even oil to those looking for a variant without cheese and meat: and to charge the same, which is not a small thing. I will not highlight anything about the costs and the service charge, because now we are everywhere in excess. I reluctantly gave up the refuge's desserts (truly exceptional and refined) since there was no plant-based alternative. I hope to be able to return next time and find a change. For the rest, friendly and patient staff despite the great heat.

Abbiamo raggiunto il rifugio a piedi da Pineta di Faedo in meno di un'ora, percorrendo la strada in mezzo a un bel bosco. Il rifugio si trova vicino al "Roccolo" ancora ben mantenuto. I piatti offerti sono gustosi e attinenti a quelli che normalmente vengono proposti nei rifugi, però con un tocco di raffinatezza in più, tanto che si avvicinano a quelli tipici della città. Il personale gentile e attento al cliente, buono il rapporto qualità/prezzo.

Not a refuge or a mountain hut but a real restaurant. The main dish is the rabbit, but everything else was delicious too, especially the cold cuts and cheeses on the platter. Really friendly, patient and helpful staff.
