Pomod’oro In Napoli

Stopping in for lunch we took two pizzas in the wallet, one with mortadella, a sausage and broccoli and a pasta omelette. The pizzas are excellent but full of oil and the omelette is just right crunchy.

During a pleasant tour of Naples we ate fried pizza, a sandwich with sausage and broccoli, crocchè and omelette: satisfied with the choice!

We stopped there by chance because there is no shortage of choices in Naples for Pizza! We had a nice surprise! Wood oven pizza!

Ariana the server and Francesco il pizzaiolo. Delicious pizza. Right in front of Monumento San Gaetano. Unlike traditional Napoli style dough, this one cuts like butter. Soft crust you just can't get enough of. Francesco is only 18 and has been making pizza for 6 years. Good God, a baby when he started. We had the "il diavalo" pizza with salami, Basil, cheese, a beautiful sauce, chilli and a touch of olive oil which was excuisite. Amazing. Small place with a tiny counter off the main road selling small personal snack size pizza, but have a seat out back and get a regular plate size one made fresh. Wow. We're from Canada (Italo Canadese), and have been traveling to Italy for years. You can't go wrong if you're in the area. Buon appetito!

Good pizza dough and generous with pizza choices! Would have liked a deeper tomato flavor, otherwise top!
