Best pizza in town for years. It's a bit out of the way, but definitely worth it

I have tried many pizzerias in Riva and the surrounding area but in the end, in terms of dough, fragrance, digestibility, quality of ingredients, the best is always Pizzoteca. I recommend it to all those who don't like pizzas with high edges. The covered garden is a corner of tranquility. Excellent value for money.

Pizzeria a few steps from the center of Riva del Garda. Parking: either in front of the pizzeria or nearby (there are many parking spaces, both free and paid) Place: renovated, clean and composed, simple but with a refined style, familiar and convivial but also intimate and reserved, silent with pleasant music at the right volume to accompany you. And be careful: there is also a summer garden! Service: friendly polite ladies will welcome you and direct you to your seats while waiting for dinner, prepared by the owners of the pizzeria, which has been in the square for many decades (guarantee of experience, quality and great knowledge of raw materials) Pizza: simply divine. Definitely among the best I've ever eaten. The dough is the strong point of the dish: left to rise not for 1, not for 2, not for 3, but for 4 days! With great patience, love and passion. But with superb results. As if that wasn't enough, each ingredient is carefully chosen by the owners and comes from different parts of Italy, no compromises from "large-scale distribution" and "tourist menus" are accepted. If you want products like this to spend as little as possible, you can easily go to other anonymous pizzerias located in the center of Riva. But all you will have left is the receipt to remember. In the pizzoteca I advise you instead to enjoy the pizza with your eyes closed and very slowly, to savor it completely and with emotion, feeling the goodness of the dough and the quality of the raw materials. If you have a taste for these experiences you will understand what I'm talking about. You will probably want to eat another one, perhaps sharing half with whoever accompanies you. Prices in line with the quality expressed. I recommend it wholeheartedly, knowing that you will spend a little more, nothing compared to what you will get back in exchange for taste and flavour.

Parcheggio: o davanti alla pizzeria o nei pressi (ci sono molti parcheggi, sia gratuiti che a pagamento) Locale: rinnovato, pulito e composto, semplice ma dallo stile ricercato, familiare e conviviale ma anche intimo e riservato, silenzioso con musica gradevole al giusto volume ad accompagnarvi. E attenzione: c'è anche il giardino estivo! Servizio: cordiali signorine a modo vi offriranno il benvenuto e vi indirizzeranno ai vostri posti, nell'attesa della cena, preparata dai titolari della pizzeria, in piazza da molti decenni (garanzia di esperienza, qualità e grande conoscenza delle materie prime) Pizza: semplicemente divina. Sicuramente tra le migliori mai mangiate dal sottoscritto. L'impasto è il punto forte del piatto: fatto lievitare non per 1, non per 2, non per 3, ma per 4 giorni! Con grande pazienza, amore e passione. Ma con superbi risultati. Come se non bastasse, ciascun ingrediente è accuratamente scelto dai proprietari e arriva da diverse parti d'Italia, non si accettano compromessi da "grande distribuzione" e da "menu turistico". Se volete invece prodotti del genere per spendere il meno possibile potete senza problemi andare in altre anonime pizzerie ubicate in centro a Riva. Ma non vi resterà che lo scontrino da ricordare. In pizzoteca Vi consiglio invece di gustare la pizza ad occhi chiusi e molto lentamente, per assaporarla completamente e con emozione, sentendo la bontà della pasta e la qualità delle materie prime. Se avete gusto per queste esperienze capirete di cosa sto parlando. Probabilmente vi verrà la voglia di mangiarne un'altra, magari facendo metà con chi vi accompagna. Prezzi in linea con la qualità espressa. Ve la consiglio con il cuore, sapendo che spenderete qualcosina in più, nulla in confronto a quello che vi verrà restituito on cambio come gusto e sapore.

Edit 2023: 4 stars. pizza still very good, but this place has become much more expensive. It seems like they really want to maximize profit as much as possible, for example, they only sell 500ml water (a very small bottle), this way you are forced to buy more bottles, each at a steep price. Can be very hot in summer months, and there are no fans or mist-spray on the patio One of the locals' favorite. Staff is efficient and competent. Lovely patio (works even when it's raining with a movable roof). Pizza is excellent, always.
