05/09/2024: Stopped for lunch on the way to France. Excellent service in the dining room and behind the counter with Sophie and Giorgia. I stopped there again the next day when I returned!
21/08/2024: Walking along the seafront I was attracted by the restaurant's beautiful terrace and convinced my husband to come in for a quick lunch before returning to the beach. They informed us that it was still early but instead of leaving we decided to sit down for an aperitif to while away the wait, served with chips and 4 pieces of stuffed focaccia, so as not to take away our appetite too much. To be honest, I didn't notice any sign of hospitality from the staff, who never gave us a smile or a kind word. While consuming the aperitif, I started looking at the menu on the internet, seeing as no one bothered to bring us one, meanwhile other customers were arriving and were already being seated in the dining area, with tables already set and menus included. I spotted several interesting dishes and had already decided what to order but when our table was finally set we discovered that the lunch menu was different and honestly very limited. However, we found something interesting, the mixed fried food, and noticing that the price (25 euros) was almost double that of the other places (all very good) where we had already eaten previously in Savona, we understood that the portion had to be generous enough to share between two. In addition we also ordered some french fries. The fried food was undoubtedly very good and plentiful but (and this had not yet happened to us) it was made more substantial by the presence of many vegetables (also fried), courgettes and peppers. My husband doesn't like vegetables and I found myself eating them all myself. We wanted to order a first course but none of the only 2 offered were to our liking, so we decided to finish the meal by ordering coffee and bitters. The food itself was good, the fish was fresh, you could feel it, the place was welcoming but now I read in the bio that the owner expects customers at 6.00pm, there is no mention of lunch, so perhaps all the best resources on the menu are allocated to dinner and probably the staff also doesn't have much pleasure in carrying out the lunch service because I saw the same aseptic detachment applied to the other customers too, at least that was the case that day. I want to give you some advice for the future: it's not enough to choose good raw materials and have a nice place if the staff doesn't know how to win over customers. The customer must be pampered, you cannot place the plate in front of him absentmindedly without the slightest consideration because the competition is great and it is important to make the customer feel that he is welcome and appreciated, because the customer (in general) is spending money and is allowing you to carry on with your business (and in our specific case I assure you that with the almost 60 euros between 1 fried food, 1 portion of chips, drinks and coffee spent by you in Turin you will eat your fill, even fish and even in the central area).. It's not enough to justify yourself by saying that the Savonese are grumbling, sulky and bearish (which many people from Savona themselves have told us), business involves something completely different and fortunately it's not like that everywhere, we found extremely kind, friendly and hospitable people too. in Savona...
