A well-presented, professional pastry shop with very interesting products.
I had two pasticciotti (€1.80 each): pistachio and chocolate.
- The pistachio was disappointing. It has a spreadable icing on the surface, but the cream inside doesn't taste like pistachio. I assume it's the traditional cream with a hint of pistachio. Close your eyes and you wouldn't be able to tell it's pistachio inside. The shortcrust pastry, however, was very good.
- The chocolate was very good. A hint of salt in the shortcrust pastry contrasted nicely with the sweetness. The chocolate cream inside had a pudding-like consistency, but it tasted good.
Let's just say I could have done without the pistachio one.

The best desserts in town. It's a family tradition to go to Capilungo to sweeten the day. This is our most important dessert, one we look forward to all year long when we travel from Germany to Italy.

I tried the Luca Capilungo pastry shop for the first time and was pleasantly surprised.
Although I visit Lecce frequently, I had never visited the pastry shop, which has a very extensive pastry counter. I stopped by the rotisserie counter since it was lunchtime, and I must say that the rustici and fried calzone were exceptional.
Of course, I finished with a pasticciotto with sublime black cherry, excellent custard, and perfect shortcrust pastry.

We had an aperitif for two, with good, plentiful options. A wide selection of pastries and ice cream was also available.
