If you are looking for quality desserts, Pasticceria Betti in Cremona is a must. After tasting a delicious tray of mignon, I can say that the artisanal care and attention to detail can be felt in every bite. The pastries are balanced, fresh and incredibly tasty, with a variety that satisfies every palate: from velvety cream to crunchy cream puffs, through enveloping chocolate and fresh fruit. The dough is always perfect, neither too sweet nor too neutral, making the most of each ingredient. Furthermore, the staff is friendly and competent, ready to recommend combinations and house specialities. The environment conveys a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for those who want to indulge in a moment of sweetness.

Being a business that has been open since '91 and not disliking the sight of the photos published, I wanted to give this pastry shop a chance and I'm happy I did. The type of croissant is not my favourite, being brioche rather than puffed, but it remains objectively delicious, as well as well filled with house creams and jams (a detail not for everyone). The glass of latte macchiato was also quite generous, as well as being good, as was the variety of mignon on display. To complete the experience, we also took trays of various pastries, and we were satisfied, as well as pleasantly surprised by the mix of classic sweets and modern innovations. I don't give five stars only for two reasons: the shortcrust pastry baskets of various tartlets were particularly hard instead of being crumbly; and the sign at the entrance, which specifies that dogs can only enter if picked up. It's the first time I've seen a rule like this in Cremona. And I understand that every business runs itself as it sees fit, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a pretty old-fashioned decision for the place. This is because in Cremona animals are now accepted everywhere, even in food businesses such as greengrocers. In short, for an animal rights city it doesn't seem like the best policy to me. Other than that, I think I'll happily return for some other desserts.
