Correct place, somewhat slow service, dishes with uneven results, some pasta too al dente. There is no menu, the menu is complicated because to the price of the dish you have to add drinks and the always uncertain cost of the cutlery so you don't know how much you will pay in the end, a €10 dish plus a €5 dessert can end up costing €25.

Absolutely amazing! It was worth coming to Asolo (and it wasn't easy, because the SVT bus only goes to Ca'Vescovo, from where it's another half an hour's walk up the hill) even just to find this gem. A very atmospheric place with a long, interesting history. It seems to be a family business, probably spanning three generations. The lady who served us was very nice and friendly. Since we arrived when the kitchen was not yet operational, the first items we chose were a set of cicchetti in three fish versions and the enigmatic Nervetti (it turned out to be a local snack made of... pork tendons). And then we enjoyed delicious bigoli in salsa and bigoli al'anatra spreads accompanied by homemade frizzante wine. Revelation! Even though Asolo is a well-known tourist attraction in Italy, prices are lower than in neighboring, larger cities. The symbol of al Bacaro is the silhouette of a man in a black coat and a black hat. And what a coincidence: while we were sitting inside, a man in a black coat and a black hat ran down the street :-O. The place was so wonderful that it was a pity to leave. As time passed, more and more guests arrived and then it turned out that there was another room upstairs. I recommend this place to everyone.

Simply FANTASTIC. The service staff are friendly and attentive, the restaurant is characteristic, the dishes offered are delicious and exquisite. The soppressa is good to move, as are the bigoli with duck ragù. Among the desserts, the tart with amaretto base is pure poetry and the Tiramisu has no equal. Convenient prices. Just go there!

Da “Venexian”, che vive a Firenze da diversi anni, mi piace ogni tanto fare delle gite nella mia terra.
Questa volta siamo stati ad Asolo, bel borgo che avevo già visitato diverse volte.
Abbiamo deciso di fermarci a pranzo in questa osteria anche per il nome che evocava molti ricordi.
Ottima scelta.
Abbiamo optato per due portate a testa: cicheti (crostini con aringa e baccalà mantecato, polpetta di carne con radicchio, sarda in saor, foglia di radicchio con acciughe e nervetti), bigoi in salsa (v. foto), polenta con formaggio fuso e baccalà alla vicentina (v. foto).

Una bella esperienza sia per la qualità del cibo che per l’accoglienza.
