Number Two Bar Pasticceria In Vallo della lucania

I happened upon it by chance on one of my trips, just to get a coffee. While I was drinking my drink I noticed out of the corner of my eye a tray kept on the back shelf of the display, inside some products with a singular shape, halfway between a croissant and a panzerotto. Intrigued, I asked what they were: calzones with escarole. I took one to take away while the kind barmaid described the filling to me. I paid and left. Continuing my journey I then decided to eat it. The dough was soft and fragrant, very well leavened, but when I bit into the filling, my eyes popped open... I HAVE IN MY HANDS ONE OF THE MOST TASTY THINGS I HAVE EVER EATEN! The flavor of the escarole, probably sautéed in a pan with onion, enhanced by an abundance of capers, anchovies and Taggiasca olives sent my taste buds haywire. An incredible delight. With every bite I hoped that the next one would be at least as good as the previous one, until the last bite when the tip of that strange croissant was pleasantly crunchy. Only after eating it did I imagine why they kept the tray in the back of the display: it was to protect that treasure chest of wonders! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! A note also for the place: familiar and comfortable, very clean toilets. Bravi! Bravi! Bravi!
