19/08/2023: After our first great dinner at the place in October 22 naturally wanted to relive the experience - and we did. The menu offers local dishes, and any of them can be recommended. We came early, but the place started filling up quickly, and you could see that the other guests were equally happy with their food - comes as no surprise. A big plus is that they offer even the top wines such as Amarone in glasses and not just in full bottles. This time it was not yet dark, so we could enjoy the great view over the valley as well. Truly a superb dinner at a superb place with superb hospitality from the hosts.
18/07/2023: You get some of the best views in the Fumane region. But the food is average at best. Pasta dishes are ok but nothing to write home about. The menu has good variety but the choices we made were simply average.
Service was quick to start but after the appetizers were served, they forgot about us and we had to ask for a number of things throughout the meal, like salt, ketchup, drinks, water, etc. By the end of the meal, the restaurant was getting full and we were clearly forgotten. After a good 20 minutes waiting for the check, we got up and went to the cashier to ask if we could pay. Any of the three servers we asked for the bill should have told us to go to the cashier.
The wine list is extensive and the house wine was ok, but again, nothing to brag about.
An average experience. We’ll try many of the other restaurants around before going back.
