Perhaps it is due to the competition from the classic pizza and all the other culinary excellences of the Neapolitan tradition. Incidentally, you can already eat very well in Campania, let alone (I don't mind the other provincial capitals and their other local areas) in Naples where there is a very respectable offering. And it's not that this data should be like a shadow on everything that is new, organic or coming from other nations and places. If you have never eaten Seitan, it is understandable that you will tend not to enter a place like this. But let's say that if it is true, as it is, that an evaluation is not given only on the dishes that are served, then as the stars above suggest, there is also the environment, there is also the additional services that are offered (today I saw a football match), there is also the state of the bathrooms (I would say more than excellent), the courtesy of the staff or if there are special offers like today's: aperitif with bruschetta, olives and other appetizers plus a glass of wine (red to me) only €10. And this is enough to understand the value of the offer because in a Wine Bar a red wine by the glass (it depends on the type of wine) can cost around 6 euros alone (and we are not talking about the best qualities). And then just to make you feel the freshness, I can tell you that at the entrance there are boxes like those you see at greengrocers, full of fruit and vegetables. So you can be sure that these are not things that come out of cold storage. And listen to me: I worked in a supermarket and I also saw cockroaches, those not very nice big, red cockroaches.

I have been a customer of the Sorriso integrale in the historic center for years, and with great pleasure I discovered a new look in Mergellina. The restaurant, near the beautiful seafront, is a well-kept and quiet place where you can savor a variety of good quality vegetarian dishes. Excellent house wine. The pistachio caprese was delicious and the portions are generous. The staff is very attentive and kind. The price is right. We will gladly return!

After a long closure, Amico bio has reopened in Mergellina. Here we eat only organic food, that is, prepared without additives and preserved. A large room, simply furnished in tavern style, wooden tables, paper placemats to place the dishes. Own production: pasta, rice, legumes, vegetables etc are grown and prepared naturally. For us a good and healthy dinner with obviously organic house wine 🍷: risotto with mushrooms, rocket and parmesan then potato rosti with provola and vegetables; followed by lasagna with cauliflower meatballs. Then we tasted seitan (wheat) scallops with lemon 🍋 and pizzaiola seitan. Amico bio also prepares smoothies, tarts, there are beers and you can drink coffee ☕️ very attentive table service, there is takeaway, moderate prices. Street parking on blue lines, garage a short distance away.
