My experience at Macelleria Bonat was simply memorable. As soon as you enter, you immediately realize this isn't a normal "shop": Luigi and Simonetta don't simply sell products, they tell stories through food.
Luigi, with his infectious passion and in-depth knowledge of raw materials, takes everyone on a journey of authentic flavors and careful selection. His "non-butcher" vision shines through in every product: every cut, every preparation is the result of respect for the product and for those who will enjoy it.
Alongside him, Simonetta enriches the experience with a touch of warmth and authenticity: her culinary creations—from home cooking to desserts—perfectly complement the experience. The tasting I enjoyed was a succession of pleasant surprises, where the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients are evident in every bite. 
This is a place where you don't just buy food, you live an experience: Luigi and Simonetta put heart, expertise, and a genuine joy into what they do. If you love unique, authentic products full of personality, this "non-butcher shop" is truly not to be missed.

The meat is of the highest quality, as are the owners, who are truly exquisite people. It remains a boutique of meat and human relationships. I definitely recommend visiting this oasis to everyone!

When we entered this shop in the beautiful village of Mezzano in September, partly out of curiosity, we couldn't have imagined the uniqueness of the owner and his extraordinary products! There were already other customers inside, and a real spectacle was unfolding: the charming owner, a proud pork butcher and actor, a truly original character, was extolling dozens of his own products, handing out samples of each, accompanying them with philosophical and life reflections that would inform the experience of eating them. A philosopher and a poet who, at length and without haste, reconstructed the circumstances and sensory perceptions that each taste implied; and you couldn't help but immerse yourself in the flavors of speck smoked with special woods, the expertly seasoned mushrooms, and the exceptional gastronomic inventions!
If you enter, don't do so with the idea of simply buying in a few minutes, but prepare to immerse yourself in a true sensory experience of taste accompanied by the story of the creator of the original and unique products, describing each one enriched with psychological considerations and poetic pride.

Tastings from Space and Memories from Earth 🌌🏡
Participating in a tasting at Macelleria Bonat is a little journey through time and memory. Luigi, with the passion of a philosopher, told us about the natural and ethical cured meats, crafted with care.
Tasting the mortandela took us back to the aromas and flavors of childhood, reawakening deep and moving emotions. Each slice is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and savor life, rediscovering the beauty of simple and genuine things.

A whole other planet! Just as Luigi describes himself, his creations come from a mind that isn't earthly because they're spacey. They can't be described in words because only by listening to his "explanation" and then tasting his creations can you truly realize you'll never be able to eat cured meats the same way again. It's like being a guest at a friend's house who wants to share with you their enthusiasm not only for what they allow you to enjoy together but also their infectious joy for life. I'd also like to thank Simonetta, Luigi's earthly companion, who is as sweet as his creations!

Five stars are for Luigi's products, which to say they're good is an understatement. They deserve a thorough try, along with the "Alien" explanation.
