Finally, a quiet, open-air restaurant with a lovely patio. The food is carefully prepared, very good, and the dessert is spectacular, featuring a Savonese chinotto compote. The price is fair.

We were staying at the hotel, and when we were trying to decide where to go for the evening, it turned out there was a fantastic restaurant in our building (4.9 Google rating). We decided to book a table online, but it turned out there were no reservations for 10 days in advance. We tried to show up just before opening, but the waitress (the head waitress) categorically said there were NO vacancies. But we were lucky: the restaurant owner, Paola, saw us and heard that we were hotel guests, resolved our issue, and we got in for dinner. It was simply wonderful. Everything was delicious, the presentation was superb, and the service was excellent. Thank you very much.

We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility afforded by the evocative setting of a cloister, a perfect place to relax and enjoy dinner in peace. The cuisine is truly excellent: delicious dishes prepared with top-quality ingredients and carefully presented. We enjoyed it so much that we returned three consecutive evenings, each time with the same satisfaction. A restaurant undoubtedly worth discovering and remembering.

Toward evening, just outside the entrance, incorporated into the Royal College, a sign appears on the ground, discreetly and succinctly: Locanda dai Barnabiti. Nothing has ever been so apt to match the treasure hidden within. As the saying goes: you shouldn't cast pearls before swine. The privileged are the residents staying at the Relais, even if they don't necessarily know how to take advantage of it. It seems like a muted announcement, like the velvet produced by the sound of muted violins. A cloister opens up, half of which is covered with wooden parquet flooring bearing the weight of tables set for the guests (and exclusively for them). "Maestro" Antonio launches the art of the inspired chef, bursting with passion. And the feast of the palate begins, a triumph of taste buds and a wink of the eyes captivated by the plated compositions. I mention the seafood carbonara, but I wouldn't want to disparage the Barnabiti's fried fish or the best stew I've ever had. I won't go any further, so as not to betray the discretion embodied by the sign outside the entrance. Treasures are meant to be discovered and experienced: for those lucky enough to have stumbled upon them and for the long-time experts, absolutely captivated and happy to be so. Special thanks to Flavia, the master of the dining room service; to the sweet Maddalena, who continues the family vocation at a very young age; and may Paola and Mauro always be praised for the inspiration they received on the Via Aurelia.

Dinner with friends in the internal courtyard in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Excellent service with attentive and discreet staff, as well as excellent dishes made with selected ingredients and a top-notch wine list. Excellent value. We'll definitely be back....
