L'Isola dei Sapori In Taio

Lots of good things, but the prices......

For a few years now, during our ski holiday in Andalo, we've taken the time to stop by the Isola dei Sapori (Island of Flavors) to sample some of the specialties, even though the prices aren't the cheapest. Of the strudels I've tasted, theirs was one of the best, irresistible, but this year I've found it to be quite different: no longer made with puff pastry but with bread dough, a creamy interior instead of chunky, very little dried fruit, and a strong aroma of cloves. I didn't like it at all; next year I'll try to return; if I'm treated the same way, I'll go back empty-handed.

It's worth visiting and buying regional preserves. There's a very large selection of meats and cheeses. Prices are reasonable; if you stock up here, it's much cheaper than in a restaurant.

Excellent shop for local produce. Not just apples, after all. Very well stocked and friendly staff. Average prices. Free parking.

Welcoming and informal. Excellent traditional Trentino food.

A must-visit spot in Dermulo! This shop is full of local specialties ; dried meats, cheeses, bread, and all kinds of regional products. We had two sandwiches with beef, and they were absolutely amazing. We also tried the apple pie, which was delicious. The owner, Simone, is such a kind and welcoming person ; he really adds to the charm of the place. There’s a big selection of everything you could want if you’re looking to taste or bring home something local. Highly recommended!

We found it on our way through. It has everything you could want: souvenirs, cured meats, wines, cheeses, fruit... and you can also eat and drink at the tables outside. The sausage sandwiches and apple fritters are excellent.

A wide variety of local products with the option of tasting on site. Worth a stop if you're in the area...
