Intrigued by the reviews, we went to dinner at Life, a restaurant and tobacconist. What can I say? We had a wonderful time, in fact, we dined there three nights during our stay. The menu features excellent, fresh ingredients, excellent appetizers, delicious boiage with ragù, excellent spaghetti with sea urchin, fantastic stuffed calamari, and much more; excellent local wines. On Friday, couscous with a delicious fried fish dish was fantastic. The sweet conclusion was a superb mandarin granita. I wanted to thank you again for hosting us; we had a wonderful time. Honestly, given the many positive reviews, I'm disappointed. We felt ignored, even though we were there early in the evening (7 PM) and there wasn't much going on. The waiter set the place settings on our table without greeting us and was excessively slow. However, the lady, presumably the owner, made an effort, and we managed to communicate a little in English. The food was good, the pizza bread delicious. The Sicilian salad, according to the menu with cherry tomatoes, olives, onions, olives, and capers, consisted of potatoes and regular tomatoes—no olives. When I asked if this was the salad I'd ordered, the owner told me that's how it's served nowadays in Sicily. 🙊 Overall, the food was still inviting; the pizza bread was on the house, and there was a lemon and grenadine sorbet at the end. 👍🏻

We had a mixed appetizer of land and octopus, followed by stuffed squid and a shrimp and pistachio busiate. The food was truly excellent and plentiful, and the service was very kind, offering advice and explanations. At the end, we were even treated to focaccia and orange granita—all truly delicious. We can highly recommend it after an evening with a sunset at Alle Saline.

We stumbled upon this place by chance on our way to the salt flats. It was lunchtime, so we stopped in. The food was excellent, and the owners were incredibly kind. We had shrimp fritters, baby shrimp fritters, couscous, scallops... everything was delicious. Not to mention the artisanal granitas: the late mandarin, almond, and mulberry flavors were truly superb. The owner also recommended we change our itinerary and go to Erice straight away and visit the salt flats at sunset. A truly spot-on suggestion: we enjoyed a cool breeze in Erice and visited the salt flats at sunset, free from the stifling heat. Thank you so much ♥️

The food and service were fantastic. The small restaurant with its integrated kiosk takes you directly into local Nubian life. A very pleasant experience. Thank you for your hospitality.

Absolutely great food, the service was so nice and the ambiente is very relaxing since all the locals spend their time here too. One can enjoy a good time watching the comes-and-goes and the lovely familiar interactions with the locals, owner and people that work there. We felt very welcome even with our broken italian as they also spoke english. We were also gifted with a delicious "Granita" desert. Big thank you to the team for the hospitality, we will 100% come back!♡

Nice and kind. 2 steps from the Nubia salt flats. I will definitely return.

Get off the beaten track to find a simple place where the welcome is friendly and the dishes generous.
