A Mediterranean flair in Kaltern, right on the market square – enjoyment is a top priority here! The Laubencafé in Kaltern completely delighted us! The moment you enter, you sense the welcoming atmosphere – stylish, cozy, and full of charm. Perfect for a little break in the heart of Kaltern. A real highlight: The wines offered here from the St. Quirinus organic winery. Regional, sustainable, and simply delicious! We were particularly impressed by the Sauvignon Blanc and the Planties Red, but not only that ;) – fresh, elegant, and with a clear signature of the terroir. It's great that so much emphasis is placed on quality and regionality here. The rest of the selection is also impressive: excellent coffee, homemade cakes (the apple strudel is a dream!), and small, fine dishes prepared with love, as well as fantastic ice cream creations. Everything is high-quality, yet down-to-earth – just as you would expect in South Tyrol. The team at the Laubencafé is warm, attentive, and very competent. You immediately feel welcome and well looked after. A place you absolutely must visit – whether for a leisurely breakfast, a wine break during a stroll, or a stylish aperitivo. We'll definitely be back!

Since the owner changed (last year), it takes a very long time to even get the order in.

They serve ice cream, snacks, and drinks until late in the evening, which is great. They also serve ice cream to go, and it tastes great. We sat next door twice and saw the huge ice cream sundaes being served. So we wanted to go here for ice cream. However, the selection of ice cream sundaes was rather limited, and the prices were quite high. They were then brought in a simple bowl with no visual appeal (at least the brittle bowl). My special ice cream bowl (also served on a plate, but beautifully presented) was mango-passion fruit puree -> very tasty, with 1x mango and 1x lemon ice cream and whipped cream (that's what the menu said). It was served decorated with nuts, and then I was blamed for not listing all my allergies and intolerances before ordering, as someone with allergies. :( The waiter was visibly annoyed when I said I couldn't eat it like that and would like it completely new. Yes, of course, it's a shame about the waste of ingredients, but I specifically choose something safe for me, and then he says he should have known and gives me a lecture about how it's my fault and that in Italy you always have to tell the waiter about all your allergies beforehand. *In the end, my ice cream bowl was remade! Thank you for that, it tasted very good, but the way he blamed me was not appropriate. Correct. It's a shame, we expected more. One more positive thing. The waitress we paid to was super polite and nice. Thank you :)

A true highlight in Kaltern! The Laubencafé impresses across the board: The service is first-class – friendly, attentive, and warm. The quality of the food and drinks is outstanding; you can immediately tell that the work here is done with love and care. And the ice cream is simply fantastic – creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. We'd love to come back and highly recommend the café!

We spontaneously decided on this café and ice cream parlor on the market square. The staff was extremely friendly, and I had the super delicious caramello cream ice cream, probably the best ever. So it gets full marks and we highly recommend it.

Delicious cappuccino with plant-based milk alternative - oat milk. Rarely found in South Tyrol. Were incredibly excited and very satisfied. Friendly staff and nice ambience indoors and outdoors.
