Too bad, given the location, perhaps a tourist trap. Very slow service and the quality of the cakes didn't quite live up to the usual high South Tyrolean standards. Maybe we were just unlucky? The staff, however, weren't unfriendly :-) (Note regarding the feedback: "plates licked clean": interesting phrasing. We even left some food and no one asked for it. Not all guests are looking for a confrontation. We simply want to be served relatively quickly in order of arrival and have a pleasant time. Perhaps you should hire anonymous restaurant testers. You could then discuss the results with them. Or you could summarize the results here and optimize your business. See it as an opportunity.

We were at Laubencafe yesterday afternoon. We had an excellent cappuccino and a homemade cake, and my husband enjoyed a nice glass of red wine and a slice of farmer's toast.
The service was wonderful, and we felt very comfortable.
Thank you so much, we'll definitely be back!

Cappuccino with a heart, and the ice cream is also delicious. We would have loved to go there more often, but we couldn't get a seat. This speaks volumes for the cafe. We'll be back. We were there again this time and drank the most delicious cappuccino.

We were at the Laubencafe two weeks ago. We drank excellent wine from the St. Quirinus organic winery, and the service was very prompt, even though the café was very busy. Our snack was served freshly by the chef. Afterward, we treated ourselves to a delicious ice cream sundae. The seating is very central and you can easily observe the goings-on around you. The staff were very friendly.

A Mediterranean flair in Kaltern, right on the market square – enjoyment is a top priority here!
The Laubencafé in Kaltern completely delighted us! The moment you enter, you sense the welcoming atmosphere – stylish, cozy, and full of charm. Perfect for a little break in the heart of Kaltern.
A real highlight: The wines offered here from the St. Quirinus organic winery. Regional, sustainable, and simply delicious! We were particularly impressed by the Sauvignon Blanc and the Planties Red, but not only that ;) – fresh, elegant, and with a clear signature of the terroir. It's great that so much emphasis is placed on quality and regionality here.
The rest of the selection is also impressive: excellent coffee, homemade cakes (the apple strudel is a dream!), and small, fine dishes prepared with love, as well as fantastic ice cream creations. Everything is high-quality, yet down-to-earth – just as you would expect in South Tyrol.
The team at the Laubencafé is warm, attentive, and very competent. You immediately feel welcome and well looked after.
A place you absolutely must visit – whether for a leisurely breakfast, a wine break during a stroll, or a stylish aperitivo. We'll definitely be back!

Since the owner changed (last year), it takes a very long time to even get the order in.
