L'Alibi Caffè In Imperia

Looks like a nice shop with very pleasant service. Also with restaurant service. Caffe and cappuccino (€1.60) for which the beans are burned on an olive wood fire. On the Aurelia at the entrance to Imperia and on Wednesdays and Saturdays opposite the very atmospheric market of Oneglia (Imperia)

In Oneglia, it is not on the sea, nor is it located in the streets in the city, in the shade, but in the historic Piazza Calvi; Most importantly, there is excellent quality cuisine here for a "cafe". Today stewed cuttlefish (€16): perfectly cooked shellfish and the sauce is not thick or drowned in oil. It always precedes the ordered dish, what elsewhere they call amouse bouche (or patient, I've also heard). Since autumn 2023 I have always found in the short list of daily dishes, a soup/veloute and a risotto (as well as a couple of other dishes) Bread and focaccia made in the same kitchen. However, there remains an atmosphere of pleasant normality, of a "café", in fact. The young people who staff and manage the place should be rewarded. Few, good, no frills
