Delicious food for reasonable prices

We went there by chance, visiting Populonia. The place is right at the entrance of the village and the location is really beautiful, even if a bit messy. The staff was kind and courteous. The things to eat were quite good (lasagna, ribollita and octopus) also the bread and the savory focaccia, at the right prices (the first ones at 12 euros and the second ones at 14 euros). What I can't understand is how you can charge 2.5 euros for the cover charge per person (with the placemat and the paper napkin) and 2.5 euros for a coffee. At least let's put some control, let's put a proper tablecloth and give a little order to this location. Then probably the location makes the business work even without any of this, but it could really be done much, much better.

Superfast, friendly staff and excellent food!

Large and plentiful salads. There are only a few pasta dishes, but they're also very good.

Perfect for an espresso and a croissant in the morning after cycling uphill!

Perhaps Italians have higher standards than German tourists. We really enjoyed our meal here. The food (panchetta, salami, typical prosciutto crudo, pappardelle al cinghiale, melanzane alla parmigiana) was excellent and reasonably priced. We also had a Vino della Casa and a bottle of mineral water. The waitress was more than friendly, and we were even allowed to park our e-bikes at the fence. Conclusion: As German tourists, we highly recommend La Taverna!

Posto incantevole, giardino tenuto benissimo in un piccolo borgo sul promontorio. Personale cordiale e aperitivo incredibile! Ci siamo goduti questi momenti al tramonto.
