We'd been meaning to eat at Locanda Rosella for a while, and finally booked for lunch on August 15th.
We were both very satisfied and surprised by the excellent quality of the seafood menu, everything flavorful and, above all, fresh.
Not to be overlooked is the warm welcome and professionalism of all the staff.
A quiet place to eat well and spend some peaceful, relaxing moments.

The hotel is well-organized, and the food is excellent in their restaurant.
The location is excellent, allowing you to reach Porto Pino in just a few minutes.

🇬🇧 An authentic and unforgettable experience in the heart of Sardinia
We stayed for a week at Locanda Rosella in Giba with a group of friends and a child (five people in total), and it was truly unforgettable. In this seemingly simple place, we had the privilege of experiencing the true Sardinia, made up of authentic traditions, sincere hospitality, and excellent food.
The inn has been run for generations by Ilaria's family, a true force of nature, always available, cheerful, and tireless. With her, every day began with precious advice on the best beach to visit, based on the wind—a detail that truly makes a difference! Upon our arrival, they greeted us with their contagious smiles, and every morning Francesco delighted us with a generous sweet and savory breakfast. And then there's the aunt, a discreet presence, who embodies the most authentic Sardinian spirit.
The service was excellent: daily cleaning, attention to detail, and a rare availability. Ilaria organized unique activities for us, like a boat trip to Cala Smeraldo or an exclusive aperitivo at sunset—moments we'll always cherish. The inn is located inland, but just a few minutes away is Porto Pino, with its dream beaches and famous dunes, perfect for watching the sunset.
We wholeheartedly recommend Locanda Rosella to anyone seeking an authentic experience, far from the frenetic pace of tourist resorts and hotel chains. Here, you can still indulge in slow tourism, experience the true Sardinia, and immediately feel part of the family. A true gem not to be missed!

Torneremo sicuramente!

We only stayed one night at the Locanda Rosella, as a stopover on our way to the coast. Our room faced the road, which unfortunately turned out to be a real problem at night. The road seems to be a frequent traffic jam, and we were woken up several times by the roar of engines. The room itself was quite large and simply furnished, with some new, modern furniture, some clearly dated (like the built-in wardrobes that didn't close properly).
What really bothered us was the smell of cooking, which started in the hallway and permeated the room, especially at night. At least it didn't bother us in the morning, but anyone sensitive to it should be aware of it. Parking is available nearby, so it's not a hassle. The breakfast was quite good by Italian standards, even with savory options, which you don't always get.
We also ate in the restaurant in the evening. The service was very friendly, the food fresh, and something different – not your run-of-the-mill fare, but with a few interesting options. The portions could have been larger, though; some things seemed a bit expensive for our taste.
All in all, a fairly unspectacular place to stay, and not too expensive either. Okay for one night, but for a longer stay, we would have certainly preferred more peace and quiet and a bit less kitchen fumes. Extra points for the restaurant and the really fluffy, fragrant towels. For us, that makes four stars.

I visited only for dinner, quick welcome and very welcoming environment, quite expensive prices for the very small appetizers, fregola with an excellent flavor but very raw (the waitress was very kind not to charge us for glasses and coffee), excellent quality meat but in my opinion slightly tough.
Summary: modestly high prices, good food and quick service.
Maybe I would go back, recommended to try typical Sardinian dishes such as seadas and fregola.

Accoglienza molto calorosa e cordiale.
