To celebrate my birthday, my husband and I decided to book a table at this restaurant, drawn in by the overwhelmingly positive reviews. As soon as we arrived, the owner greeted us, making us feel right at home. He was incredibly friendly, showing us to our table, which was already set and beautifully displayed with giardiniera. The lady who looked after us throughout the meal was incredibly friendly with us and with all the other diners crowding the room. The meal was sublime, starting with the appetizer of typical Piacenza cured meats...delicious...accompanied by soft, non-greasy fried gnocco, which was replaced as soon as it was finished. The first courses were each better than the last (the tortelli con la coda were the best I've ever had anywhere else), the pisare e faso were delicious, and the risotto with mushrooms and sausage was better than my usual. The roast veal, which to say was tender is underestimating, could be cut without a knife... even the baked potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, are not so easy to find... last but not least (it's really the case to say it) the dessert buffet... the owner told us "do what you want" and then TO THE ATTACK... a piece of almond cake, a piece of black cherry cake, a piece of apricot and peach cake, a piece of chocolate cake, the result I COULD NOT FIX MY PANTS ANYMORE... 🤣🤣 Digestive coffee and tons of photos to share with friends because the place is truly something special, it feels like going back in time. The price is more than fair and when it's time to say goodbye they don't let you go without trying a last liqueur... I'm already thinking about when to book for the next time... see you soon and thanks for everything

Very famous restaurant in the area. Beautiful location. Very friendly owner and staff. I've been there several times. The cured meats with gnocco fritto and giardiniera are fabulous. Not to mention the first courses: pisarei e faso and tortelli piacentini with butter and sage. The homemade cakes are fabulous. I've never had the chance to try the second course. Excellent price.
