The "La Conca" restaurant is a welcoming place, located in the heart of Serrone, in the La Forma area. The pizza is excellent, super crispy with a nice crust—I'd say the best in Serrone. The tiramisu is also very good and deserves a second helping. The staff is equally welcoming: the old men are always there and ready to exchange a kind word, the owner is also extremely helpful, and the chef is very friendly. We also really like the cozy and quiet terrace, where you can sit and admire the city center. A place definitely worth visiting.

Aesthetically it is very nice and welcoming, also the staff is kind and helpful, the waiting times are terrible, an hour and 10 minutes of waiting, I ordered a sausage and chips, the first time they brought it to me only with the chips, the second time it almost fell through through no fault of my own, I also ordered a Coke which did not arrive and I asked for it directly to a waiter, the sausages were undercooked and the chips almost inedible, the batter was excellent.

The service was slow and out of sync, with dishes being brought to different diners far apart. Too much salt in the ragù. The price was reasonable, and overall the selection and quality were good.

The two of us went there on August 15th 2025 and ate lasagna with meat sauce, fettuccine with porcini mushrooms (there were plenty of mushrooms), roast goat, and house red wine. The service and food were excellent... you be the judge of the prices!

23/10/2025: Ragu gnocchi outstanding. House wine is great. Hospitality is outstanding from the beautiful ladies running the establishment. The locals dining there all seem to be sitting on 5ft sticks up there :) when they see a foreigner. It’s free to smile!
13/09/2025: We wandered into Pane e Vino near the end of their lunch service. Wow! What a wonderful surprise! This is an authentic local osteria with limited but expertly prepared menu. Everything was delicious. The pasta was al dente, cooked in a slightly spicy pomodoro sauce that you couldn't get enough of. The house vino and bread were divine too. My husband's coniglio and my chicken were perfectly baked paired with fresh salad -- healthy and yummy! We had to skip dessert and the espresso shot because we had an appointment to get too but they looked good too. Get there by 2pm for lunch, although another group came in at 2:15 and were seated. Very reasonable priced - a local lunch spot near Fontechiari - and sparkling clean too. Must try if in the area. We'll be back!
