Il Gelatiere In Napoli

As a lactose intolerant person, I was so happy to find a vegan ice cream spot that does actual vegan ice cream flavours (i.e not fruit sorbets!) I had the caramel flavour and the chocolate /vanilla mix. Both were awesome and the choc/vanilla one was even sugar free! My partner also enjoyed his dairy version. Only feedback is they were quite small scoops, don’t expect a toppling over ice cream!

I have tasted gelato from numerous high-quality gelaterias across many Italian cities from north to south, including several Gambero Rosso tre cones, yet I cannot understand why this gelateria has not received the recognition it deserves. It definitely deserves more! The gelato is molto molto buono, with the "vegan pistachio" and "Sardinian speciality flavours (shop exclusives)" being particularly recommended from me. The flavour selection is exceptionally diverse, and the store is very nicely decorated, hosted within the beautiful Chiaia district of Naples. While I might say that, Naples city might have fewer high-calibre gelaterias compared to some other Italian cities in general, I definitely will say this gelateria one of Naples' best. It deserves greater recognition and reviews from those magazines – certainly worthy of at least one or two cones from Gambero Rosso! Very good ice cream at a hefty price: about €3 per scoop. But it's absolutely worth it.
