Hosteria La Fraschetta In

We stopped out of curiosity to try the dishes from the fraschetteria that won an episode of Alessandro Borghese's "Four Restaurants." Overall, we ate well; the dishes were tasty and well-served. One flaw was that the side vegetables were brought 10 minutes before the accompanying "abbracciato" (a kind of grilled pork shoulder) was served. It was decidedly unpleasant to receive the bill on a non-fiscal receipt, which, given that I paid in cash, makes one think otherwise (I only realized this at home when I picked up the receipt again).

"If you eat well," more substance and less show. Recommended by Google, we went to try this Hosteria with the best intentions, considering it won the title of best trattoria in the Roman hills in Andrea Borghese's "4 Restaurants." At first, especially when we were outside, we were a bit perplexed, as it looked like a classic "tourist trap." As non-meat eaters, we decided to order: 1 Chicory sautéed in garlic, oil, and chili pepper, 1 Tonnarelli cacio e pepe, 1 Eggplant Parmigiana, with half a liter of white wine and a bottle of water. We sat outside and waited for service, which was prompt, both for the order and the table service. While waiting for our appetizer, we "suffered" the proximity of the tables, as the lady at the next table started smoking, causing us (even though we were outside) quite a bit of annoyance. As soon as the dishes arrived, we had to reconsider any initial skepticism: the food here is undeniably good. The portions are generous and the quality superb. The chicory sauté was excellent in its simplicity, albeit with a lot of oil. The eggplant parmigiana, despite its unappealing appearance, was incredibly tender and flavorful. Excellent in every way. The Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe was excellent. The house wine was average, nothing exceptional, but okay. The bathrooms were clean and equipped with a changing table (not a given given the limited space). Disabled access was excellent, given the almost total absence of obstacles, although the bathroom was a bit narrow. Price for two people was €46, including a €1.50 cover charge per person. Highly recommended.

Great location excellent quantity and quality

We were drawn in by the fact that this fraschetta was chosen as the best in the Castelli Romani, but unfortunately it was a DISAPPOINTMENT. We had a maritozzo with meatballs, which was good, but the pasta, both carbonara and gricia, were too heavy; the gricia was literally soaked in oil 😝. Then we added a chicory, which was also drowned in oil. I'm sorry to say it, but it was one of the worst dinners. Maybe it was good in 2019 when Borghese came, but they need an update and we'll see if the place maintains the same quality in 2025. I don't recommend it!

We went for lunch, a platter of excellent quality cured meats, especially the exquisite porchetta. The typical Roman first courses were truly delicious and plentiful. We stopped at the first course because we were already full, especially given the heat. Excellent service and very kind staff. The bill was reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food and the service. We'll definitely be back.

Abbiamo cenato in questo locale in coppia attratti dal fatto che avevano vinto 4 ristoranti come miglior fraschetta. In realtà siamo rimasti un po’ delusi perché il personale era abbastanza pressante e non appena ci siamo seduti venivano di continuo per ordinare. L’antipasto di verdure era molto buono e sfizioso, un po’ meno la carbonara perché la pasta era poco cotta. Abbiamo comunque apprezzato il vino della casa. Un po’ caro rispetto alla media.

Questa volta il miglior voto lo merita la Titolare!!!! Prenotato due gg prima Arrivati non risultava nulla. Locale pieno tempo brutto due bimbi piccoli affamati Dopo un po’ di battibecco con la cameriera altrettanto gentile esce lei la titolare mortificata che si scusa e ci propone di aspettare per come si libera un tavolo, ma ormai il testosterone presente era già su di giri così cerco di trovare una soluzione visto che avevo due bimbi affamati e lei mi capisce al volo e ci porta fuori un piatto di polpette al sugo e che polpette!!!!! Nel mentre mio cognato e mio marito chiedono tre aperitivi ma li non si fanno aperitivi ma la cameriera molto sveglia dici ora ve li porto. Dinamica nel pieno del Lavoro prende e va al bar a farseli fare!! Entriamo pranziano tutto stra buono, una porchetta tenerissima, cacio e pepe e matriciana favolosi ma il premio lo vince la carbonara di un giallo mai visto!!!! Consiglio potete divederla in due e gustare anche altro !!!! Ricotta e more di LOPPA anche quella da non perdere!!!! Da come era partita alla fine Tutto bene senza contare, ciliegina sulla torta, la titolare è stata un grande professionista perché oltre a metterci la faccia in prima persona ci ha offerto anche l aperitivo e le polpette per i bambini. Non so voi ma io Conto i giorni della dieta per RItornarci 🤣🤣🤣
