Very nice place, qualified and very kind staff and what can I say about the dishes, I ate some homemade fettuccine with a large crab... highly recommended

we went yesterday with friends, excellent quality food from the very rich starter and fresh fish, exceptional mussels, to the dessert, a spectacular homemade tiramisu. The price is not for everyone.

If you’re an American visiting Italy, you have to include a stop in Nettuno, about an hour and half south of Rome. Not only is it a great beach town, and not only does it feature the country’s best baseball stadium, but it’s where American forces landed in 1944 to liberate Italy. Some 23,000 young Americans gave their lives to ensure that Italy could be the prosperous, free and beautiful place that it is today. While you’re here, you absolutely, positively have to eat at the Ristorante Da Max al Portico. Max grew up sleeping on flour sacks in the restaurant where his father worked, dreaming of having his own place, and today that dream is alive and well in one of the best seafood venues you’ll ever experience. Especially recommended are the tagliolini all’astice (pasta with lobster), rombo in crosta di patate (turbot with a potato crust) and the gnocco con vongole and pistacchio (potato pasta with clams and pistachio). Full warning: Portion size is “generous,” which really means enormous. You’ll leave full, satisfied and happy, and you’ll also have made new friends. Buon appetito!

Chef was amazing, very friendly & explained the dishes, recommended his favourite white wine. Great atmosphere, very accommodating!

The staff is welcoming and the place is also nice. The bill was quite steep...
