Elleniko In Lecce

Not quite the Greek I was expecting :( I booked two days in advance because I was craving Pita Gyros, but after two days of waiting 🥲, when I ordered, they told me they don't do it on Saturdays. 💔 Heartbroken, I chose something else from the menu. The food was okay, Italianized cuisine, but it didn't remind us much of Greece, which is why we were a little disappointed. Prices were high. Cute little place and friendly staff.

If you've never been to Greece and want to try traditional dishes, go: the food is good! If you've already been to Greece and want to relive those flavors, I warn you that you might be a little disappointed. I have some experience abroad, having visited over 30 countries, and I know that a cuisine can't be perfectly reproduced outside its homeland. The Greek salad was identical in appearance, but not in flavor: the quality of the tomatoes, onion, cucumber, green pepper, olives, and especially the feta cheese is not the same as in Greece. The moussaka was good, but a distant relative of the original: it lacked the aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg, and the béchamel sauce was more abundant than usual. In short: the food is good, but remember... you're not in Greece! 🇬🇷

A corner of Greece just steps from Lecce's historic center. A sublime experience, one to be repeated again and again. Extraordinary cuisine, refined dishes that satisfy and gratify the taste buds, gourmet-style plating, and excellent raw materials of the highest quality. Kudos to the warm welcome from the owner Andrea, who made us feel at home and welcomed us like friends. Kudos to the professional and impeccable dining room staff, Martina and GianLuca. Excellent overall: "Elleniko is a treat for the palate and the soul." PS I had become disenchanted with Greek cuisine in Lecce after dining at another Greek restaurant, but here I changed my mind.

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The setting is pleasant and carefully decorated. Despite being close to my road, we were in a peaceful location. As for the meal, everything was delicious and very generous! Not to mention the service... We had a very attentive server who gave excellent advice, both on the dishes and the wine. A very pleasant person who loves what he does. It's nice to see that they still exist today. We had a wonderful time. I'm happy to recommend this restaurant!

Although the place is located outside the historic center of Lecce, it has a good atmosphere, although not as good as the ones in the center. If you're in Lecce for more than one night, it's worth going for the delicious dishes—super filling and very reasonably priced. Authentic Greek flavor!

Charming little restaurant with lots of options. We were accommodated despite the restaurant filling up fairly quickly with reservations. The lamb is recommended, as are the salads!
