We went to Elleniko driven by the excellent reviews online and by the desire to taste a bit of Greece in the heart of Salento. The place is welcoming, tastefully decorated and with attention to details that recall the Greek atmosphere, even if with a slightly touristy touch. The staff is very kind and helpful, and the service was quick and efficient, despite the place being quite full. We tasted several typical dishes: moussaka, pita with various fillings and some traditional appetizers. All in all we ate well: the portions are generous, the ingredients fresh and well cooked. Having said that, it must be admitted that the experience, although pleasant, is not really comparable to eating in Greece. It's a bit like going to Greece and eating in an Italian restaurant: good, but with that something missing. The same goes here. Overall, Elleniko is a great place for those who want to approach Greek cuisine without leaving Lecce. Don't expect absolute perfection, but a good dinner, yes, with flavors that recall, even if they don't entirely replicate, Greek authenticity.

Fantastic dinner! We started with the house appetizer, a generous and tasty mix of Greek specialties: tzatziki, feta, olives and other delicious tastings, all fresh and well presented. For the first course, we chose a traditional dish that really immersed us in the flavors of the Mediterranean. The second course, a fried fish, was one of the highlights of the evening: crunchy, dry, tasty and with very fresh fish. We concluded with a typical dessert, fragrant and perfectly balanced. Very kind service and welcoming atmosphere. A corner of Greece that will be difficult to stay away from!
