Went there for ice cream. The ice cream was okay. Large terrace. The decor and atmosphere were okay. Also frequented by locals. Relatively high prices. Noise from the main road with trucks, etc., was a bit disturbing...

I was really looking forward to breakfast, as nothing else in Kaltern is currently open on Sundays. Friendly welcome, a table was free for me. After I asked for the card and received it, I had to wait a full 30 minutes before I could speak to the waitress the next time. But then breakfast came quite quickly. Too fast: the rolls were still frozen inside. It wasn't that bad, I just cut it open and left it there for a while. All in all, very friendly and a great selection of cakes and other sweets.

The negative thing this year is the price increase with smaller ice cream sundaes compared to last year (ice cream sundaes are smaller than on the menu)

01/05/2025: A real insider tip on the Jaufenpass! On our journey over the Jaufen Pass we made a spontaneous stop at the Hotel-Restaurant Unterer Obereggerhof in Walten - and were more than positively surprised. Our snack was simply excellent – ​​fresh, homemade and prepared with a lot of dedication. You can taste that almost everything is produced here in-house. The view of the valley is breathtaking and gives the meal a very special backdrop. Particularly worth mentioning is the house's love of animals and child-friendliness - whether two-legged or four-legged, everyone is welcome here. A place that not only saturates, but inspires. Unreserved recommendation

09/08/2024: Il miglior rifugio dell alta Badia sia che si stia bassi che si salga su con le ovovie o seggiovie. Cucina ottima , quasi tutti i piatti sono di tradizione locale dallo stinco alle costine poi canederli ecc. io consiglio il galletto e costine. Porzioni ottime di sapore ed abbondanti ( non tutti le fanno così), personale gentilissimo ottima la pulizia sia della sala che dei bagni. Sono anni che ci veniamo ed in confronto a molti è rimasto sempre uguale anzi delle due è migliorato. Prezzo onestissimo per la qualità e quantità delle porzioni!
29/07/2024: Anche quest'anno al Rifugio come da diversi anni. Location stupenda, servizio impeccabile con addetti cordiali e gentili. La Sig.ra Michela davvero simpatica. Pietanze consumate ottime e abbondanti e penso anche quelle che non abbiamo preso. Super simpatica e in gran forma la Nonna che si aggira tra i tavoli con scatola di legno per offrire un digestivo di fine pasto, Complimenti ancora e speriamo di ritornare la prossima estate. Bravi......
