CuCumiao In Palau

I ate it very well... the Cucumiao meat is true poetry...

Cucumiao is the best of the three restaurants we visited in and around Palau. It's true that the menu, with its ten pages, can be daunting and make you wonder about the freshness of the dishes, but we tried several dishes and everything was perfect. I recommend the typical pane frattau dish, which is simply excellent.

We arrived at the restaurant in the evening without a reservation and were given a private seat outside in the courtyard. Our starter was disappointing. Unfortunately, the translation didn't make it clear that we were only expecting raw vegetable sticks in ice cream with olive oil. Now we're familiar with this simple specialty. We both had pasta dishes, which were okay but nothing special, and a very small portion for €22. The focus throughout the restaurant is on high-priced meat and seafood. We wouldn't return and would rather recommend one of the restaurants in the town of Palau, where we had good experiences.

Cucumiao is a beautiful farmhouse surrounded by greenery, meticulously designed both inside and out. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, perfect for enjoying the authentic flavors of traditional Sardinian cuisine, with an excellent selection of both fish and meat dishes. We began lunch with a truly delicious Sardinian cheese and cured meat platter, packed with quality local products. Next, we sampled some traditional specialties: culurgiones, chiusini alla smeralda with seafood, and coietas, delicious meat rolls. Everything was delicious, well-prepared, and served in generous, well-balanced portions. To conclude, we tried the desserts: the creamy and delicate tiramisu and the tiliccas, traditional Sardinian sweets, which were simply amazing. The staff deserves special mention for their helpfulness, professionalism, and courtesy: they gave us excellent advice right from the moment we booked and carefully explained each dish, conveying their passion for their work. An authentic, well-kept, and welcoming place, ideal for those seeking a traditional Sardinian gastronomic experience in a natural and relaxing setting. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Palau or the surrounding area!

An excellent restaurant if you're looking for Sardinian specialties! We went back twice during our stay; the service was excellent!

We received a friendly welcome from the staff. We hadn't made a reservation but were shown to a table anyway. We immediately felt at ease. The waiter told us about the special dishes available, and we took advantage of them. The food was excellent and served quickly. We were very satisfied. Highly recommended if you want to sample typical regional dishes.

A very nice restaurant with very friendly staff. The food is truly high-quality and the selection is extensive. A reservation in advance is worthwhile, but we were able to get a table fairly quickly. The only thing that doesn't fit in with the otherwise wonderful and elegant ambiance is the two broken guest restrooms without working faucets.
