I stopped into the Scaturchio pastry shop in Spaccanapoli because they said it was the temple of babà. Unfortunately, the babà I tasted didn't live up to my high expectations. The pastry wasn't as soft as this typical Neapolitan dessert should be. The coffee, however, was very good!

Scaturchio had a reputation for serving the best pastiera in Naples - and I can only agree! The creamy ricotta, orange-water flavored filled with chunks of jellied fruit are memorable from the first to the last bite. It’s possible to purchase an entire one, which I did and that I’m so glad that I did. Highly recommend this pastry shop for its offering truly authentic tastes of Naples!

5 stars absolutely deserved! I tried the lobster tail with Chantilly cream, it was delicious!! Price €3.50, a little high but worth it!!

Wide selection. The lobster tail was very good. The only downside is that you shouldn't be in a hurry.

The name alone carries a certain weight. Scaturchio isn't a pastry shop, it's a piece of Neapolitan history—and sitting outside, in the middle of the beautiful Piazza Amedeo, with all that life going on around it, is already an experience worth the visit.
The caprese was excellent, the coffee as it should be in Naples: precise, intense, unpretentious.
I was perhaps expecting something more from the zeppola di San Giuseppe, but perhaps the timing wasn't right.
The prices are those you'd expect from Scaturchio. But the square, the atmosphere, the slow pleasure of sitting outside in one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Naples—that makes up for it all. Recommended.
