Excellent pizzeria and excellent calzones

I ordered eight takeout pizzas last night. The pizza was good, as was the quality of the ingredients. I needed the pizzas ready at a specific time, and they were; I must say, right on time. The staff were very friendly and welcoming; just as the pizzas were ready, the downpour began. They kept the pizzas warm and were friendly enough to engage in conversation with us while we waited. It was a good choice to trust them with our pizza order for the evening.

Love the Neapolitan pizza at Carminiello! Super light, fluffy crust, fresh toppings, and really tasty — all at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and kind.

I don't usually leave reviews, especially when I'm disappointed. This time I felt like it, paradoxically because the owners seemed kind and passionate. I was passing by, saw some people sitting outside, and stopped to get a pizza to go. What can I say, once I got home and tasted the pizza, my smile faded: I was completely disappointed: the pizza was exaggeratedly thin, really, too much, and even more so, rubbery. I felt no pleasure in eating it, even though the ingredients were undoubtedly fresh, but just thrown away. I ate it in five minutes, both because of the inconsistency and because I was dissatisfied. I'm really disappointed because the owners really seemed very passionate, and it's not like me to leave reviews like that. The pizza I ate wasn't at all worth the price I paid, very far from it, because after all, there wasn't any pizza per se; I felt like I wasted my money. I hope it was a coincidence. Good luck.

I am a Deliveroo rider and I happened to try pizza at this place by pure chance. Last night, during my working hours, I went to pick up a delivery at Carminiello and, since it wasn't ready yet and I had been fasting since 12:00, I took advantage of the opportunity to quickly eat half a pizza from those on display: a margherita with buffalo mozzarella. I was literally amazed by the strong and excellent flavor and the consistency of the dough, digestible, filling and quality. I can say that this is the best pizza I have eaten here in Lecce. It definitely deserves a five-star rating. It should be noted that it is a small place, with few seats, so it is ideal for a quick meal or for takeaway. The most critical reviews are definitely exaggerated compared to the quality of the pizza prepared in this place and the service provided and lower the average rating too much, which (although very good) does not do justice to the excellence of Carminiello.
