Capanna Alpinisti Monzesi In Lecco

I spent New Year's Eve at this refuge with other friends. Excellent welcome, tidy room, very kind refugees. The menu was excellent and the portions generous. Good value for money. Top view and refuge, highly recommended!!

We spent New Year's Eve here with friends (about twenty). Starting from Erve, in about two hours we arrived at the refuge, passing by the San Carlo spring. Trail in excellent condition and well signposted. The New Year's Eve dinner was super, with rich and delicious dishes! The service of all the young boys and girls on the staff was also excellent for us, kind and helpful. Cozy and basic rooms with bunk beds. Super recommended experience!!

4 of us arrived after a 2 hour walk, the place was nice and above all in the sun, it was too crowded even on a Sunday, which was excellent, given that you can't book, the problem was with the food, the polenta tasted burnt, evidently they burned the bottom of the pot they were making it and then changed it, but it wasn't enough to change the flavour, in fact I personally had to leave it, my shin was very hard I would have given it at least another 45 minutes of cooking to make it softer (it was half a shank, not one, which should be noted) and had some vegetables cut on top to give flavour, the problem is that they were very salty, I eat a lot of salt but when they are very salty it means that you put them in your mouth and they gave you nausea, a shame because the place is very nice and they are nice and kind, but if I have to pay for a shank that is not served at the table and with these characteristics it is a bit of a disappointment, let's hope that it will be different in the future!

An obligatory destination for those who don't go to Resegone for packed lunches run by nice guys.

To go up to the refuge it takes about 2 hours from Erve but it is really worth it to visit this beautiful place. Spectacular view of the Resegone. Excellent food.
