Capanna Alpinisti Monzesi In Lecco

A truly positive experience; we ate and slept at the refuge. I'm vegan, and after letting them know in advance, they worked hard to find a suitable dinner for me. The owners were incredibly helpful and kind. The refuge is very welcoming, except for the showers, which aren't very functional, but for one night, you can live with that. Being in the middle of nowhere with a splendid view and rock music in the background is priceless!

I spent a night at the Capanna during a two-day trek and can't wait to return. Marco, Isabella, and the other people who recently took over the refuge are fantastic. The hospitality was perfect, the food AMAZING. Marco is a culinary perfectionist and personally selects his meat from local farms. The goulash was heartwarming, the polenta cooked in a copper pot had a perfect crispy crust, and the pizzoccheri were simply the best I've ever eaten. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless and welcoming. I miss it already.

Renovated refuge Excellent lunch

We left Erve and in about a couple of hours, following a path that almost entirely runs alongside a stream, we arrived at this beautiful refuge surrounded by greenery. There were several tables outside and inside. The day we went, there was just one guy taking orders, cooking, and taking payments—basically, he did everything. He was excellent and very kind, and the food was really good. Prices are medium to high, but that's how it is these days at refuges. We had some really good spatzle and some equally good polenta with cheese; I was really full by the end. Overall, very satisfied!

A lovely refuge. Of course, don't expect to find a spectacular panoramic view, but the setting is charming in its own way. I really appreciate the outdoor space, and the hike is accessible to everyone, mostly through the woods, with a minimum of fitness (passing by the San Carlo spring). At the refuge, I tried the tagliatelle (good) and a slice of torna (average). The prices are typical of refuges these days. For a quick hike or as a base, I recommend a stop at the Capanna Monza refuge.

We went up on Saturday afternoon, even though the kitchen was closed they offered us sandwiches, the path that goes up from Erve, marked as challenging, really is, better to go through the San Carlo source, even if it's a bit longer, beautiful view, nice guy manager, If you can, ask to take some waste down,,,thanks

Beautiful refuge that can be reached from Erve in 2 hours of walking along the stream that creates many natural pools where you can cool off. The view extends over the valley and the spires of the mountains that surround it. Good food, both gnocchi and braised meat with polenta. You have to arrive early because the tables and food run out quickly. Staff a bit in a hurry given the large turnout, but you can understand it on a summer Sunday. Too bad the post is broken

Today they treated me to a warm and friendly welcome and excellent tagliatelle with mushrooms! Many thanks to the owners. The main dining room was closed, I think, for renovations. I didn't ask because they were busy, but on the beautiful day, it was pleasant to have lunch outside.
