Cantina La Stoppa In Vallerano

Lunch on the occasion of the chestnut festival. We chose this rustic cellar because it immediately won us over with its authentic and welcoming atmosphere. The environment is simple, but with attention to detail: exposed beams, wooden tables and a good smell that you breathe in as soon as you enter. It is the classic place where you feel at home, perfect for those looking for a genuine experience far from more formal restaurants. The cuisine is entirely homemade, prepared with fresh ingredients. Each dish is a tribute to tradition, but with that touch that makes every bite special. The staff is courteous and friendly and made us feel at home. Ultimately, if you love authentic flavors and want to treat yourself to a dinner without frills, but with lots of quality and warmth, this cellar is a place I absolutely recommend. Fixed menu €25 including water, wine, grappa and donuts.

Super cute experience! The place is very traditional, rustic, comfortable and above all a cheerful place! The staff is kind and helpful, also quick in the kitchen, I think they are ready meals, the only flaw is the portions of the dishes, they are too small, not so much for the first courses but for the second courses, a bit small! The evening was super cheerful and we had fun singing during the karaoke, nice atmosphere!! Pay attention to the portions, you could stand out and really have added value!

I found myself at the chestnut festival in Vallerano (VT) and on the recommendation of Federico, a local inhabitant, we went to the Stoppa winery. If you are looking for a luxury place this is not for you but if you are looking for an original and ancient place then you are in the right place. We were welcomed very warmly, as if we were family, and we were impressed by this old cellar. We were immediately given some roasted chestnuts that were cooking, waiting for the dishes. We started with a nice appetizer with various cured meats, cheeses, bruschetta and fried bread. We continued with tagliatelle with gorgonzola and chopped hazelnuts, for me, and ricotta and spinach ravioli with butter and sage sauce and chopped hazelnuts for my partner. As a second course I had some lamb and baked potatoes. By now I was full but I couldn't resist the wine donuts. During the meal we drank the house wine. It's a shame that this place will remain open until November 3rd, then we'll have to wait for the next chestnut festival in 2025. The surprise was the bill because, for two of us, we paid €40. If you happen to be in these parts, before the end of the season, stop by and you won't regret it.
