Campo di Ciello In Roccamandolfi

09/09/2025: Found it somewhat by chance after visiting Roccamandolfi Castle and the Tibetan bridge. It's reached via a challenging but picturesque road, but once inside the refuge, a relaxing atmosphere reigns: benches surrounded by greenery, horses, a roaring fire, and unforgettable food. My husband and I ate one of the best steaks we've ever had, and my husband knows his stuff. I found the price fair; we ordered appetizers (excellent cuts of cured meat), a steak served still crispy, wine (which I found passable), water, coffee, and a bitter liqueur. We stopped by again to say hello to the owner, who promptly offered us more bitter liqueurs. I'd happily return.

17/08/2025: We camped in the area adjacent to the refuge. I usually camp far from refuges, in truly wild conditions. This time I agreed to camp next to a refuge with all the comforts that come with it. I didn't regret it and would do it again. The family atmosphere was amazing. We were so sad to leave. Four wonderful days thanks to the location and the hospitality of Lucio, his dad, and all the staff. A wonderful experience despite the crazy weather. We'll be back. Highly recommended. Thank you ♥️
