Bar Ridente In

Very nice setting for a good ice cream and a coffee facing the sea. We also really enjoyed the slices of torta caprese that we ordered to take away.

On a pretty square, facing the port, this gelateria bar makes excellent ice cream and non-alcoholic cocktails. The servers are very friendly.

Proprio stamattina, durante una escursione a Sant'Angelo, ci siamo fermati al Bar Ridente che sorge proprio nella piazza centrale, di fronte al porticciolo. Vista la calura estiva, abbiamo optato per 2 granite. Non male la qualità, migliorabile il prezzo considerando la quantità (4€).

5 euros for a spritz hadn't been seen in a long time and it was also good, the staff were very friendly. They don't offer table service but you can do without it!

The quality of the products is decent. Unfortunately on the island there is the custom of taking advantage of the locations to the detriment of quality and price. The iced coffee with cream is good (even if the quantity of coffee granita is really small). The yeasts are quite good. Prices, as I said, a little high but in line with the rest of the island. The location in the center of the small square overlooking the sea is very nice. We had some problems with the service. Various errors on the part of the waiters and what's worse the fact that when you pointed it out, the faces were clearly annoyed. Then a girl who works as a waitress was rude. I went inside to pay (you pay inside) and my wife got up. At this point she was told, in a rude way, that she wanted to leave without paying (they have a PDA that shows them the tables that have paid for inside). I understand that maybe someone is "trying" but rather than insulting in a rude way, different ways can be used or, as in this case, it was enough to observe that the person in question was not moving away and in a few seconds (the time of the queue) the table would have been "paid". We have been there at least four times, also leaving tips, but I understand that we cannot remember the faces in the midst of the chaos of people so, try to find a different system to manage the payment. It's worth going even just for the location and then I saw some beautiful ice creams passing by. On a positive note, however, the staff at the counter, the only time we had breakfast at the counter, my wife did not specify that she wanted iced coffee with cream. Rightly served without and when she showed joking "disappointment" that she thought it was with cream, the waiter added it saying that there would be an overprice but not to worry.
