OMG. The best. OG of all pizza. I am pretty sure you won't find the best & authentic Margherita pizza in the town or probably in the world. The price is only 6 euro for 1 pizza. (Quick tip: If you dine in 2 euro extra).

An unmistakable scent welcomes you already on the street, while the wait – long, yes, but experienced almost as a ritual – creates the perfect anticipation. Here, true tradition is celebrated: only margherita and marinara, as history dictates. The dough is light, the crust alive, the tomato smells of sun. In a few minutes you are at the table, and in one bite you are in Naples, the authentic one. A simple experience, but one that can touch the heart.

The margherita is the one you see in the photo, it is traditionally cooked in a wood oven and is larger than the plate, the flavor is SUPER. We were lucky because as soon as we arrived they made us sit down immediately, which is rare given that there are always a lot of people waiting, perhaps also thanks to the slightly early time for the usual lunch time: at 12.15 we were seated!! The environment is simple and it is the historic one that makes it the typical feature of the pizzeria "da Michele" I recommend it 100% also for the service, everyone is very friendly.

Da Michele is a pizza place introduced to me by a friend from Naples.
I was surprised at the long line when I went there for the first time in 25 years! I was even more surprised when I heard that you have to wait more than 2 hours. If you go at lunchtime, be prepared to wait in line! If you don't mind sharing a table, tell the staff when you get your numbered ticket. If you're sharing a table, you can get in in about 10 minutes. I ordered a Margherita as usual. It was hot and delicious.
As some reviews say, I personally think it's inevitable that the pizza takes a long time to come and that the staff are unfriendly. It used to be crowded with locals, but now it's mostly tourists and I feel the atmosphere has changed.
Excellent pizza with top quality ingredients, a place with traditions, very good prices - each pizza €6.
The staff who expect tips directly is a bit embarrassing.

I was really looking forward to my visit to da Michele, and I was not disappointed. We went there at 11 a.m. to avoid the line. We were practically the first ones there. A few minutes' wait, and these beautiful pizzas were right in front of us. Is it worth the hype? Yes, it is. A wonderful and very intense pizza, whether it was the original Margherita or the Marinara. Both were heavenly. At 5 euros, the price was unbeatable. A must-try when in Naples.
