Al Cantuccio In Cavalese

Attracted by the excellent reviews, we booked a table for 2. Although the food was good, unfortunately the experience was not really up to par. Terrible service, very slow... unkind and almost annoyed staff.... After 50 minutes of waiting they finally brought us at least the menu which is very confusing, as the dishes are written all together, with no distinction between appetizers, first/second courses and no dessert. Out of 3 appetizers, 2 were not available,... and other changes to the menu and off-menu puatti (super banal dishes...) explained hastily by word of mouth. For two diners they were unable to bring the first course at the same time. ...something must have gone haywire in the kitchen....but it is not acceptable, especially if it is not excused, and indeed you feel "unwelcomed". I really don't think we will return.

We had lunch on a weekday, we found this restaurant by chance in Cavalese, in a small alley in the center. Justina welcomed us kindly but with the typical discretion of these places. The menu had the right number of courses, all very local, without overdoing the imagination and without giving useless imaginative names. For those who are not meat lovers, some fish dishes. Giustina is also a great sommelier who recommended an excellent wine, also from the area, with an excellent bouquet but with a good price. The price paid per person was around €27 for a super satisfying lunch and with an excellent wine. Ps. Exceptional goulash and a revisited tiramisu (by the pastry chef daughter) with caramelized pears. Just a small tip, the contemporary Italian music (perhaps too contemporary) clashed with the wonder of the place and the goodness of the dishes. Total rating: 10 😉

Very intimate and characteristic place. Excellent food and very generous portions with a very honest final bill. Absolutely recommended.

Small restaurant, very welcoming and quiet. Finally a kitchen that offers dishes with excellent portions, well balanced and of excellent taste! Attentive, courteous and fast service. Average prices. Well done!

We happened upon this place in the heart of Cavalese by chance and were pleasantly surprised. Very varied menu with many local specialties. The venison goulash and tagliatelle with mushrooms are highly recommended. We will definitely be back, both for the food and the excellent staff. The only negative note, if it can be called such, is that the menu does not clearly show the difference between "main course" and "appetizer" even if, upon asking, they are very willing to explain the courses.

Si fa quasi fatica a vederlo, ma una volta scoperto di sicuro ci si ricorda dove è. Piatti curati; materie prime di qualità. Gentilezza, che fa sempre la differenza.

Everything was delicious, it's a shame that it always takes a lot of effort to book otherwise we would definitely go there even more often...

Tortelli di zucca con formaggi e frutti di bosco: 9. Zuppa di ceci: 7. Insalata di cavolo cappuccio: 9. Servizio 9, a parte i calici di vino la cui quantità era esattamente quella di un assaggio. Qualità/ prezzo: 9. Posto da frequentare.
