It can be reached from the Sella pass in about 2 hours, initially on a dirt road and then an easy flat path with some ups and downs passing through two other well-known refuges. It is a large structure where you can stop and enjoy excellent dishes.

We used the Plattkofelhütte as an overnight accommodation for a hut tour on the Seiser Alm with our family (2 adults, 3 children, 12, 15, 17).
Our room was simply furnished (bunk beds), but very comfortable and clean. Bed linen and towels included.
Dinner was very tasty and filling. Very welcome after the strenuous climb.
Extensive breakfast buffet.
Unreservedly recommended!

Restaurant review
A good place to make a pitstop for lunch when doing the Sassolongo circuit. Have had better food at other rifugios, but the convenience of this on the circuit, plus the views and ample outdoor seating make this a good option to stop even for a drink.

Stayed overnight with friends, half board. Friendly and helpful staff, dinner was good. The rooms were new, clean and comfortable. Will definitely return

Beautiful refuge in a wonderful place!!! What more can I say…
To reach it I started from Passo Sella and walked probably where nature did its best 🫶🏻
The refuge is spectacular, well-kept and welcoming. The staff even more so 🔝

Enchanting location, we always come back with pleasure whether we start from Val Duron or Sella... excellent quality for the price.
Speaking of catering, generous portions as befits a refreshment after an important walk and quality to match!

Refuge located on the slopes of the flat stone, reachable from the Sella pass passing through the Friedrich August and Pertini refuges, or from Val Duron and the Micheluzzi refuge, or from the Comici and Vicenza refuges.
Refuge located in a magnificent place, in front of the flat stone, behind the natural postcard of the Dolomites with the magnificent Marmolada dominating.
Not very rich but classic menu.
