14/04/2026: Excellent Wiener Schnitzel and roast potatoes with cranberries, good Forstbier and coffee with schnapps, as well as sliced roulade cake with cherries. Beautiful panoramic view from the terrace. Reservations recommended. Helicopter landing pad available, but only by phone; radio contact is not possible.
09/04/2026: The service was very friendly. The food was delicious.
The mountain hut is highly recommended.
We'd love to come back.

28/03/2026: There's nothing better than a good, traditional kitchen, a pleasant atmosphere, warm hospitality, a bit of a beer garden or terrace, plates lovingly and creatively arranged because presentation is key, and your apricot dumplings will stay with me forever... The menu is really something special, my dear! Anyone who drives past is missing out! Yes, I'll certainly reveal the secret in my heart; our fellow travelers are always hungry anyway. For now, I wish you much joy, much success, and many new, lovely guests.
19/01/2026: If you want to eat typical, delicious, and plentiful dishes, this is the place to be. It's not a Michelin-starred restaurant, and there's no kitchen crew, so the stars are related to the rustic, family-friendly atmosphere. I think it was the best dinner I've had in these parts, in any case. The dishes were beautiful and delicious, the house wine was up to par, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended.

15/02/2026: It's a shame that the lovely walk was ruined by the terrible welcome. There are four of us and we're waiting our turn. We take the only free table near the restroom, the kitchen, and the refrigerated counter (which seems closed), so I sit right in the chair with the cabinet behind it. The plates and salad arrive shortly thereafter, but the waitress quickly takes away the oil and vinegar, and we hadn't even added any dressing to the salad! We had it brought back by asking another waiter. But while I'm eating... The chair is constantly being moved and the waiters are leaning on me as they take desserts and bottles from the refrigerated counter, which wasn't closed! As if that weren't enough, the last time the waiter pushes my chair with his leg without a word, as if it were my fault! We immediately get up, pay quickly, and leave.
08/02/2026: We have been to this place several times, which is well worth it for its location and playground, but unfortunately, time and again, the staff is so unfriendly, but so unfriendly that we can really feel bad about it. The problem is that we will return because there are few alternatives, and the managers know it.

14/04/2026: The hut itself has a lovely terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I hadn't read anything about the hut beforehand, but I also have to report some negative experiences with the service. The welcome wasn't very friendly (in fact, they seemed to be trying to avoid me), and the owner was generally very taciturn and unfriendly. The food was okay, but nothing that would make me want to return for the food. Sadly, this is a hut I would skip on my next hike and would rather find another one or just sit on a bench and eat my bread. A real shame...
12/04/2026: Let me start by saying that we had desserts and two coffees, and everything was excellent, and the prices were fair. Now the sore point: the owner of the mountain hut, as soon as we entered, said hello and didn't respond, then pretended not to understand. Eventually, we managed to order and were served, accompanied by incomprehensible comments. My impression, which may be wrong, was that the rudeness towards us was due to the fact that we were Italian. We've traveled far and wide in South Tyrol, but we've never encountered such behavior. 👎

Restaurant Wargerhof

29/10/2025: We stayed at the Wargerhof farm in August 2025 in a very nice, modern apartment with a magnificent view from the balcony. The farm is beautifully situated on the Tschögglberg mountain. The area is fantastic for all kinds of hikes. Merano, Bolzano, and Hafling are also easily accessible. The farm itself has many animals, including a friendly farm dog, cats, piglets, cows, chickens, and rabbits. The family who runs the farm is very welcoming, and you can order bread rolls, eggs, and other products from their own farm. We had a wonderful holiday. Highly recommended.

25/07/2024: EHRLICH: Wer das schlechteste Wiener Schnitzel seines Lebens essen möchte, ist hier herzlich willkommen. Frittierte Schnitzel in altem Öl, abgezählte Pommes (die kosten ja wirklich nichts), weder EIN Salatblatt noch eine Tomatenscheibe. UND, wer auf warmes Weizenbier steht sollte seine kostbare Zeit hier verbringen.

21/04/2025: Ci siamo tornati come di consuetudine a pasquetta con amici che non c'erano mai stati e devo dire che siamo rimasti pieni soddisfatti, ottimo cibo porzioni abbondanti e camerieri cortesi e gentili, giusto il prezzo per un locale di montagna. Se volete una bella mangiata e una bella giornata in montagna questo posto è consigliato anche per chi cammina poco perché parcheggiando a Frassineto vicino alla chiesa eccezion fatta per la prima rampa poi è una tranquilla passeggiata in mezzo al bosco. Ci torneremo di sicuro.
02/01/2025: Il posto è tipico sebbene tutto ristrutturato, molto accogliente e curato. Personale cordiale. Piatti buoni con menù piu’ ampio rispetto ai soliti piatti del posto. Molto consigliato!

21/10/2024: Una porzione di castagne e 2 caffe per un TOTALE DI € 10,2.
Caretti direi...ma a parte questo ( bastava leggere i prezzi prima di ordinare...e comunque non sono sicuro che il prezzo della porzione di castagne sia esposto ), al momento di pagare mi viene subito detto che il bancomat non funziona, al che con l'aiuto di mia moglie riusciamo a tirare fuori il dovuto....anzi meno, dato che pretendeva di prenderli " a nero " facendomi lo sconticino di 0,20 Cent.
Dopo una mia più che giustificata rimostranza, il gestore ha capito che non c'era trippa per gatti e con estrema fatica ha fatto saltar fuori UNO scontrino.
Dico così perchè i clienti che pagavano prima di me hanno pagato il loro pranzo ( tavolata da 8 ) senza ricevere scontrini in cambio. Che sia una consuetudine dato che il luogo è bello bello nascosto e difficile da raggiungere?? A pensar male spesso ci si azzecca....
Cmq l'accaduto è già stato segnalato a chi di competenza. Speriamo in controlli a breve a questo punto. Il mondo non può essere sempre quello dei furbi...ogni tanto dovrebbe essere quello degli onesti....
