Trattoria da Claudio 1999 In Curtatone

27/10/2023: We stopped at this place in the middle of nowhere for lunch on the way to Mantua. The food is very good, but it's not for picky eaters or for those addicted to their phones. They have no menus. The owner tells you the menu in rapid Italian. They have 5 homemade pastas plus some kind of meat with wilted greens as a second course. If you use your phone or laptop at the table they get mad and take it away. There is a sign that sort of suggests that you should not to do this but one guy did it anyway and they took it away. I would not ask for any changes to the menu here, because they will be unhappy. They do what they do, and they do it well, and that is that. We asked if we could get a salad or the wilted greens as an antipasto so we could have vegetables. The answer was no. Instead he brought us a plate of salami (this is the only antipasto) and, grudgingly, a tiny jar of pickles, which were extremely tasty. We each got a pasta - both very good - and a glass of excellent wine, and a coffee. Total 39 euro. They brought the check rolled up in a bullet casing. We enjoyed the food and the vibe, and we would go back.

26/10/2023: "...scusate potete indicarci una trattoria con la vera autentica cucina locale?...". Una banale domanda fatta a colazione aveva prodotto un verdetto unanime: "...andate da Biagiolla"...". E caspita se avevano ragione nel suggerimento! Situato nella golena del Po (e quindi soggetto agli "umori" del grande fiume) è veramente un luogo affascinante, se vogliamo reso ancor piu' piacevole dal carismatico titolare e da tutto il suo staff. Abbiamo ammirato con piacere tutto quello che c'è alle pareti, dai richiami ai film di Don Camillo, alle immagini della piena del Po, alle foto dei personaggi famosi che sono venuti qui a cenare, con la chicca - per noi tifosi romanisti - della maglia numero 10 autografata del Capitano (..."è stato qui due volte......" ci conferma il titolare). Gia' il mangiare. Spettacolare, a cominciare dalle "...due fette di salame e coppa..." pe rantipasto. Imperdibili assolutamente i bigoli con le sarde, cavallo di battaglia del locale, una vera golosita'. Cosi' come il cotechino oppure la spalla cotta nel lambrusco. Lambrusco con tanto di bottiglia che reca il logo della trattoria: cosi' invitante che non abbiamo resistito a portarci a casa la bottiglia. Sbrisolona con grappa per dessert, poi anche un amaro della casa. Non c'è menu scritto, dice tutto a voce il "boss", ma i prezzi sono assolutamente onesti. La prossima volta che passo da queste parti, magari allungo la strada ma torno qui a fare una scorpacciata
