A slightly run-down tavern. In my opinion, the cuisine is not up to the expected quality. The garnishes with tuna were a little salty, with a stringy tuna that didn't mix well with the rest of the sauce. The fettuccine with chicken ragù was equally savory. In the appetizer, poached egg with asparagus cream, the ingredients were paired without great skill. Dish to forget. The beef was accompanied by completely burnt roast potatoes. Prices normal. Quick and courteous service.

The tavern is not very central but still a few minutes walk from the tourist center of Mantua. Friendly staff and good service. The dishes we ordered were good. Prices above the average of "normal" taverns.

Really excellent, quality raw materials, spectacular local cured meats. The first courses chosen were impeccable, well balanced and generous portions. Excellent choice of wines and a clean and serene environment, also excellent for intimate lunches and dinners. Really good!!!!

We weren't actually that hungry, but given the menu, the smell from the kitchen and the friendly service, we couldn't resist. The risotto didn't entirely convince me, probably because it doesn't meet my idea of ​​a well-done risotto (and for me parmesan is part of that). This risotto does not contain cheese and is a bit dry, more of a side dish. The ravioli with, among other things, pumpkin were amazing and really enjoyable. The meat was juicy, crispy on the outside, red on the inside and of the best quality. Actually, you have to come back again to try more of the menu. Mantova is definitely worth another visit and so is this Osteria.

Locale piccolino ma caratteristico, proprio a ridosso del celebre centro storico e monumentale di Mantova. Assaggiati i piatti tipici della tradizione: antipasto di salumi con mostarda di mele e giardiniera, tortelli di zucca e riso alla pilota. Ottimo il salame al cioccolato, curioso il gelato alla cannella. Servizio veloce e competente.

Ritorno in questa osteria a distanza di almeno dieci anni e di cui non avevo un gran ricordo. Ambiente easy e spartano che ti mette subito a tuo agio. Piatti decisi e ricchi di gusto e l'immancabile lambrusco mantovano che si abbina perfettamente. Giudizio positivo. Bravi!

Trattoria al Ponte

01/05/2024: A real leap in time. A trattoria that invites you to go back in time, when carts passed over the bridge over the Oglio and the drivers stopped here for a break.... Now the bridge is closed because it is unstable and cordoned off, but the Trattoria is always open, clean, bright, with the tables tidy as in the past... Very kind service, traditional Mantuan dishes, perfectly made, endless wine list, tasty and inviting desserts.... Here I tasted grilled catfish for the first time: exceptional... Come calmly and for a moment you will feel like you are traveling in a world different from the metropolitan frenzy...
20/03/2024: THE TRADITION OF GOOD CUISINE CONTINUES: it was no longer in the past after Vania took over....I had good memories and I feared change; I was happy with it: except for some dishes, the others are traditional and intelligently revisited: use of spices, which is rare, very delicate in complementary flavors to enhance the raw material of the dish. Only note... eliminate the Lambrusco at €10, not because it's low priced (well done) but because the blend of grapes just isn't right, at the same price you can find peasant Viadanese (like Corte Frati or Reggiani like Settecani) which is more full-bodied and balanced without cost increases. However, congratulations to the two chefs who were able to adapt well to tradition without distorting it.
