05/04/2026: Outstanding food, service and views. Best meal we've had in Italy so far and plan to return. The food was generous and delicious (unlike some more 'fancy' or touristy places we've been). The owners were lovely and even though we don't know each other's language, we communicated.
Really made my day and one of the highlights of our time on the island.

08/04/2026: While visiting the island, we had dinner at this beautiful restaurant, featuring a very refined decor. We ate the tasting menu featuring lake fish, with some modifications to my main course due to an allergy. The staff was very helpful with recommendations and substitutions. The food was very good, with a sampling of typical dishes, all accompanied by a good house white wine.
Excellent experience.
24/03/2026: A beautiful, modern, bright atmosphere, well-decorated.
It offers excellent local cuisine with very interesting dishes that are all worth trying, using quality ingredients.
The restaurant also has some outdoor tables, but the large windows offer a beautiful view of the lake even from inside.
Dogs are welcome inside.

05/04/2026: We visited for the first time in December to celebrate our anniversary and were blown away by the atmosphere and the delicious food.
We decided to return for Easter and were once again enchanted. The room was gorgeous, the welcome fantastic: we rented bikes and enjoyed dinner at the restaurant upon our return.
The breakfast was amazing: we opted for a take-away tray and enjoyed it on the terrace, a real treat.
We took advantage of Easter to also enjoy lunch, which far exceeded our expectations.
The Locanda is a true gem: the quiet location, the clean rooms with a stunning view, and the excellent food make it a true corner of paradise, perfect for enjoying a few moments of relaxation given the different rhythms of the island.
Lastly, the staff: everyone was extremely kind and helpful. Our special thanks go to Giovanni and Arianna, who made us feel at home for the second time. See you next time ❤️

18/08/2025: We visit here every year, superb old school crusty rolls and very full, super friendly staff.
Maurizio is the Don and his English is better than my woeful Italian.
You can reserve rolls for later collection which is handy.
A must see on the Island.

The garden and the view from the lakefront tables on a nice day are truly rewarding.
The food is often fried and therefore not exactly super healthy, but they do have grills with local fish, which are very interesting and excellent.
The ladies are extra friendly and make the welcome feel homely.
Beautiful and delicious!

15/03/2026: A truly wonderful experience. The restaurant enjoys a beautiful lake view, creating a very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The dinner was fabulous: very carefully prepared dishes, quality ingredients, and truly excellent flavors. The service was also excellent, with a very knowledgeable young man who guided us through the wine selection with great professionalism. Definitely a place to return to and one I highly recommend.

The service was very friendly, but the food was terrible.
They served us a sandwich that was at least three days old.
The food they serve is probably not prepared by them but brought in from outside.
It's a shame because the location is worth it.

14/04/2026: This restaurant has a fantastic location. Incredible views of the lake and mountains. Excellent and timely service. The meat dish was good, but the seafood was terribly cooked. The squid was bland, rubbery, and undercooked. I hope the chef changes his mind about this dish.

15/02/2026: A must-see: incredible view, affordable prices, and high-quality food. The service was also excellent, with both the waitress and the owner being extremely knowledgeable and skilled. You couldn't find a single flaw.
06/12/2025: Excellent restaurant with a lake fish menu, the chef's creations are very interesting (spaghetti with dried sardines and tagliatelle with lake ragù are worth the visit alone). The location is intriguing, with a terrace overlooking the lake (in the lake). The bill is a bit "salty," but the quality of the catch (and a few bottles of wine...) justify the trip and the lunch.

22/03/2026: A decidedly disappointing experience.
We stopped at the Bubble Bar in Carzano and ordered two cutlet sandwiches. What we were served was a sort of flat "sandwich" (about 15 cm wide), and the quality left much to be desired: the cutlet was clearly pre-frozen from a discount store, the salad was thrown in haphazardly, and the cheese (such as Fontina) wasn't even remotely melted or warmed.
We also asked for mayonnaise inside, but it wasn't included.
The only positive note were the fries...
We paid €28 for two sandwiches, a Coke, a water, and a portion of fries. The price was completely unjustified, not so much for the price itself, which might be reasonable in a location like this, but for the quality of the food and the service, which were decidedly subpar.
The location is certainly charming, with the option of eating on a floating platform, but even here, the service was very minimal: the table didn't even have a placemat.
In short, you pay for the location, but the food and service are not up to par.

23/03/2026: A bar for those seeking an old-world atmosphere, it feels like being catapulted back to the '80s; you might like it.
The plus point is definitely the lakefront location, and so far it deserves at least 4 out of 5 stars.
The downside is the Monte Carlo lounge bar prices: a Pirlo and a small draft beer accompanied by a small bowl of peanuts and four dried-up chips costs €10.
26/01/2026: The bill was exorbitant: a coffee and a cappuccino cost €6.40, but where does this even begin to happen?
The service was poor.
The only thing that's nice is the lakeside location.

04/05/2025: Pranzo settimanale in famiglia. Pergolato esterno molto bello.
Piatti di pesce buoni, i contorni abbondanti (ottime le patatine fritte casalinghe) così come gli antipasti. Appena arrivati ci hanno detto che non avevano la pizza (non so perchè).
Purtroppo abbiamo aspettato a lungo per essere serviti. Alla fine del pasto devo sottolineare che si sono scusati per la lunga attesa.
26/04/2025: Abbiamo mangiato una pizza a pranzo davvero buonissima. Pasta sottile, verdure croccanti e molto abbondanti. Consigliatissima!
