07/09/2025: La Baita was a pleasant confirmation, the owner was extremely kind, and the staff was knowledgeable. They immediately set up a table inside because it was a bit chilly in the evening... but let's talk about the food! Excellent! The Aieta ham is always a guarantee of delicacy, the ricotta is top-notch, the pasta is all homemade, the tomato ravioli are delicate and delicious, as is the lagane (tagliolini) with local chickpeas... It's definitely worth the drive up to this village... a restaurant open all year round that "consoles" you with its food culture. P.S. Sorry for the photos... we dusted everything...

05/11/2025: 01/11/2025 All Saints' Day lunch at one of the most historic restaurants in the Calabrian town of Mileto, once the capital of the Great Norman County in the second half of the year 1000. The name "Il Normanno" therefore denotes the historical reference of Gianni, the restaurant's owner. The chef's masterfully prepared dishes, however, are the work of the best Mileto and Calabrian traditions, with culinary precision and attention to local products, such as Mileto-style tripe and tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, the restaurant's classics. Bravo!

26/09/2025: We went to Ristorante A Squella in Gerace, planning on eating fish, but alas, fish wasn't on the menu. The place was inviting, so much so that we decided to order it anyway. The homemade antipasto was delicious, full of homemade products that immediately won us over. And then, the pasta... The "Pasta Casereccia A-Squella" was truly sublime! We immediately identified the sausage, 'nduja, and scamorza, but there were other secret ingredients we couldn't discover. Everything was expertly measured, creating a unique and authentic flavor, typical of Calabria. Ristorante A Squella in Gerace RC Guys, it's worth the trip.

29/10/2025: Recommended for the quality of the food, the service, and the location. The appetizer was very good, as were the various courses, from starters to main courses (my personal preference). The price was reasonable for the quality and quantity offered.

01/11/2025: Terrible Management. True, we hadn't booked. However, we went in, asked if there was a table for two, and they sat us down. After a few minutes, a group of four people arrived. It was clear they had booked for four, but there were actually five of them. The waiters conferred for a while, then came over to us and said, "There's been a mistake, the table is no longer free." I've never seen anything like it.

21/09/2025: Simple and authentic Calabrian dishes, cooked the way our grandmothers used to make them: genuine flavors and generous portions.

04/11/2025: On vacation in Calabria, in the first weeks of September, we decided to try this Trattoria, in the beautiful village of Bedolato. I called to make a reservation and, as the owner recommended, I agreed to dinner. The Trattoria is located on a street in the historic center. You can park in the main square and after a few meters you reach the building that houses the restaurant, set in rooms with characteristic barrel vaults, which, like the furnishings, make you understand that you are in a Trattoria that has made authenticity and local tradition its trademark. The manager who served us on this occasion was helpful, friendly, and never intrusive or over the top. After describing the menu of dishes made with genuine ingredients, as well as the good house red wine, we settled on a Calabrian-style appetizer, excellent and varied, followed by two tagliatelle with mushrooms, delicious and where you could really taste the mushrooms, followed by a stuffed eggplant dish and a lamb dish, and second courses topped with delicious and flavorful green beans. Water, good house wine, and finally a truly delicious Limoncello. We were more than satisfied with the price/quality ratio, and I can only highly recommend it if you're in Bedolato Borgo or are in the vicinity. It's worth a visit.

27/10/2025: After exploring Badolato, we stopped at Trattoria Tipica La Botte, where we were treated to homemade specialties: pasta (Tagliatelle), gnocchi, and melanzane ripiene. Everything tasted delicious. We recommend it.

26/11/2025: We stumbled upon this pizzeria almost by accident, as we wanted to try out a pizza restaurant in the area. We went without a reservation early in the evening and they found us a table right away, which we needed to vacate as soon as possible because there were already customers with reservations. It wasn't a problem. The menu is very interesting, with a strong focus on quality and regionality, in this case Calabrian. The atmosphere is simple and familiar, with small but comfortable tables and adequate and efficient service. The wait staff is highly professional and attentive to customers. The atmosphere is that of a typical trattoria. The portions are generous and tasty, the cuisine excellent, and the experience is wonderful, and we'll have to repeat it. Thin and well-topped pizza, generous and filling first and second courses. The photos don't do it justice... I'll be back. Will you join me?
