Ristorante San Giulio In Orta san giulio

The food was not good. Only thing that was good; water and wine. Service are not very attentive.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to have lunch or dinner in the only restaurant on the island of San Giulio but upon entering the bar to purchase a couple of mineral waters, the beautiful and attentive lady at the bar counter allowed me to visit the part of the restaurant with lake view: "the terrace on the lake" and briefly explained to me how the dinners "work"! There are three "pick-ups" (to use the word she used): at 7.30pm, 8.00pm and 8.30pm from the Orta pier which are none other than the departures of the private boat service that takes customers directly to the restaurant. Evening reservations: for dinner, are essentially based on availability at these three times. Finding myself sitting on a bench in the square of Orta right in front of the island on Saturday evening, I could see the comings and goings of the boat bringing the diners of the restaurant back to dry land! PS From what I could see the position of the terrace is not strictly in front of Orta, in short the view you can enjoy is more towards the open lake, towards Gozzano, if I'm not mistaken, BUT this does not mean that dining there in the evening must be extremely suggestive and romantic!

A wonderful location. It is the only one existing on the island of San Giulio and the view of the largest lake basin in Piedmont is simply spectacular. In fact, the terrace with a view is beautiful where you can eat while admiring the wonderful play of sunlight on the fresh water of the lake. You can order both meat and fish menus. The service is offered with courtesy by young and dynamic staff, attentive to the needs of customers. I consider the interiors furnished with taste and elegance.

All very good to eat, portions quite "right". Impeccable service. The waiters and reception staff were courteous and very kind. Advised.

Excellent food as well as the location, courtesy is not lacking. To return.

Siamo stati una domenica di Marzo quando la terrazza aveva ancora la veranda chiusa ma garantiva comunque un ottima vista in quanto protetta da teli trasparenti. La stufa accesa oltre a riscaldare l'ambiente scaldava anche l'atmosfera....Abbiamo scelto dal menù alla carta le degustazioni disponibili di "Terra" e di "Lago". Ottimamente presentati a partire dall'impiattamento e dai sapori raffinati in quanto accompagnati da ottimi aromi ricercati. Il tutto chiuso in bellezza con un dolce artigianale con sbrisolona e crema di zabaione. Il caffè che molte volte servito al tavolo arriva che è una ciofeca....qui era di ottima preparazione , cremoso e dalla giusta densità. Complimenti a tutto lo staff molto gentile e attento . I tempi di attesa nonostante la sala piena, sono stati ben cadenzati ..ne all'ingozzo ne da annoiarsi come molti fanno arrotolando palline di pane. Molto consigliato

Personale cortesissimo, cura nella preparazione del piatto, materie prime eccellenti, il tutto in un luogo da sogno, facendosi coccolare dalle acque del meraviglioso lago d’Orta, che abbracciano i commensali. Ho pranzato qui in una luminosa domenica invernale gustando bocconcini di trota salmonata in carpione agli agrumi e risotto al prosecco e limone con pesce persico fritto (quest’ultimo assolutamente da provare!). Prima o dopo il pasto non si può non visitare la minuscola e incantevole perla di isola San Giulio, con l’abbazia, la basilica e la via del silenzio.
